Milton-Madison Bridge

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans joint walk-through inspections with the Indiana Department of Transportation on three Ohio River bridges this week. These inspections allow engineers an annual review of the structures and opportunity to discuss future maintenance projects on shared river crossings.

These inspections will require traffic restrictions to accommodate inspections on the following schedule:

Despite the noise and activity surrounding construction of the new Milton-Madison Bridge, the pair of peregrine falcons nesting on one of the bridge piers has had another successful nesting season.

Officials from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources monitoring nest activity say three healthy falcon chicks hatched in the nest in April. The nesting box is located near the Indiana side of the bridge on a pier that is not being reused as part of the project.
