Tuesday, Oct. 9, is the deadline to register to vote in the November general election.

Voter registration cards are available at Trimble County Clerk Tina Browning’s office. The clerk’s office will close at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Registration cards can also be obtained from the Kentucky secretary of state’s website.

Oct. 9 is also the deadline for making an address change, change of party affiliation or updating the name under which a person is registered.

Louisville, Ky. – Major road improvements at the main intersection of downtown Milton, Ky., are scheduled to begin this week and last through the end of November. Construction in the area of US 421 at Coopers Bottom Rd. is expected to improve traffic flow and drainage in the area.

The Bedford City Commission sent mixed signals to the city’s sewer customers during that government body’s meeting on Monday.

After instructing City Clerk Joyce Teague to “play hardball” with delinquent customers at the August meeting and to disconnect water service to customers who did not make payment within 30 days of the billing date, the commissioners voted to refund the $110 disconnect fee for one delinquent customer who complained.

Separate incidents listed as entries in last week’s Trimble County Sheriff’s Department log have been under investigation by local law enforcement authorities.
