  • Trimble native, Asbury Seminary founder H.C. Morrison subject of upcoming local events

    Trimble County native, Dr. Henry Clay Morrison, was born March 10, 1857 and died March 24, 1942. His father, James Morrison married a widow, Emily Durham English of Danville, and they moved to Westport with her daughter, also named Emily.

  • Trimble gospel group recording new album

  • Trimble County student population is 1,239; Graduation set for May 27

    The Trimble County Board of Education held their regular meeting on Wednesday, March 22.  
    The building principals were given the opportunity to describe the happenings in their schools. The board discussed Trimble County’s 180th year. This anniversary coincided with the Rotary Club’s 80th year.
    Jessica Wilcoxsin reported no dropouts and said the district total student population stands at 1,239 as of March 14.

  • Public gets first look at P&Z plan April 11

    Trimble County residents will have an opportunity on April 11 to get a first look at the Comprehensive Plan currently being drafted by the Trimble County Planning and Zoning Commission.
    On April 18, 2016, Trimble County Fiscal Court unanimously approved an order to form a joint planning unit with the cities of Milton and Bedford to explore the possibility of the county and cities enacting planning and zoning.

  • TCHS art students bring home a trophy

    On March 15, 2017 Bonnie Peugeot, Art educator at Trimble County High School, took 20 of her art students to Morehead State University for their annual newspaper sculpture competition. TCHS students have been attending this event for the past five years and have brought home an award for three years.

  • Event commemorates Trimble’s 180 years

    With little fanfare, Trimble County is commemorating 180 years of existence this spring. The Trimble County Historical Society held an open house Monday at the Trimble County Public Library with numerous historical displays and photos from the county’s years of existence. A steady stream of local residents and school children viewed the artifacts during the afternoon.

  • Trimble men plead no contest in Wyoming poaching case

    Casper Wyo. – The Wyoming Game and Fish Department recently closed a poaching case in Converse County Circuit Court against two Trimble County hunters. On March 13, 2017, Ricky J. Mills, 37, and Jimmy G. Duncan, 25 pled no contest to numerous wildlife violations totaling over $30,000 in fines. Mills and Duncan are both from Bedford, Kentucky.

  • Petition circulates seeking recall of latest nickel tax

    A petition challenging the nickel tax levied recently by the Trimble County Board of Education is circulating in Trimble County by a number of residents seeking a recall election in an attempt to allow all voters in the county to have a vote on the issue.
