  • School board hears updates

    The Trimble County Board of Education met at the Administration building Wednesday, April 20. The school year may be coming to a close but the issues facing the Board continue to materialize.    
    The board had an update from OVEC on the progress of the grant to improve health and safety in the Head Start facility.

    Trimble County Fiscal Court in a unanimous vote moved forward during their April 18 meeting to approve an order to form a joint planning unit with the cities of Milton and Bedford to explore the possibility of the county and cities enacting planning and zoning.

  • Bedford Commission votes to seek ‘wet’ election for city

    For many years people have been on opposite sides of the fence about the sale of alcohol in Trimble County. But the mayor and some of the commissioners have been approached to vote the city “wet.” Menus for a couple of restaurants have a list of drinks and have out of town patrons surprised when they order a drink and are told liquor is not available.

  • LPC takes tour of TCMS

    The Trimble County Local Planning Committee met at the Trimble County Middle School, April 12 at 5:30. The committee, LPC facilitator Mike Ryles and private citizens were guided on a tour of the middle school facility conducted by Principal Mike Genton. Ryles provided critique of the facility to determine if the needs of the students are met in order to make academic progress.

  • U.S. 421 may reopen this weekend

    Repairs are underway on a section of US 421S approximately two miles south of Bedford in Trimble County, after an embankment slide late last month. The roadway is reduced to one lane near Rose Hill Road due to slide repairs. A temporary traffic signal is in place to direct traffic through this area.

    Repairs are underway on a section of US 421S approximately two miles south of Bedford in Trimble County, after an embankment slide late last week. The highway remains open albeit reduced to one lane near Rose Hill Road (mile point 4.9), according to a statement by Andrea Clifford, spokesperson for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 5 office in Louisville.
