  • Betty J. Wallace, 65

    CARROLLTON, Ky. – Betty J. (Lewellyn) Wallace, 65, of Carrollton died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

    Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, with the Rev. Stan Reedy officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

    Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at the funeral home.

    Mrs. Wallace was born Oct. 12, 1943, in Worothville, Ky., to the late Eldie Lewellyn and Christine Moscoe. She was a homemaker.

  • William F. Ransdell,77

    BEDFORD, Ky. – William F. Ransdell, 77, Bedford, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange, Ky.

    Funeral services are 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Bedford Baptist Church, Bedford, with Dr. Thomas Wilkes and the Revs. Carl Rucker and Randy Nation officiating. Interment will be in Bedford I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Bedford. Military Honors will be conducted at the graveside.

    Mr. Ransdell was Born Feb. 27, 1931, in Henry County to the late Charles Ecton Ransdell and Thelma Mattick Gividen.

  • Roy Less Canine Sr., 79

    CARROLLTON, Ky. – Roy Less Canine Sr., 79, of Carrollton died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at his home.

    Funeral services were Monday, Nov., 24 at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, 213 Fifth St., Carrollton. with Rev. Howard Potter officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

    Mr. Canine was born June 1, 1929, in Shelbyville, Ky., to the late Ray Canine and Elizabeth Ellison.

    He graduated from Lincoln Institution in Simpsonville. He was a factory worker and had worked for the Kentucky Ladder Co. and the C&N Railroad.

  • Harold Wayne Kinman, 63

    BEDFORD, Ky. – Harold Wayne Kinman, 63, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at his home near Bedford.

    Funeral services are 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, Ind., with Bishop Jeff Langford officiating. Burial will be  in Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Ky.

    Mr. Kinman was born Aug. 20, 1945 in Ghent, Ky., to the late Donald and Kathryn (Fresh) Kinman Whitaker in Ghent, Ky.

    He was raised in Trimble County and was a graduate of Madison High School.

  • Ronald Bright Sr., 65

    CARROLLTON, Ky. – Ronald Bright Sr., 65, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at his home in Carrollton.

    No funeral services are planned.  Mr. Bright requested his body be cremated. Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton was in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Bright was born July 6, 1945, in Ponca City, Kay County, Okla., to the late James Oliver Bright and Nina (Cook) Bright Burgert.

    He was retired  from Boilermakers Union Local No. 105 in Chillicothe, Oh.

    Flora June Smith Lory, 77, Madison, Ind., died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008 in Madison.

    Born Mar. 19, 1931 in English, she was the daughter of Clisby D. and Rose Mary Murphy Smith.

  • Fred A. Nelson, 68

    Fred A. Nelson, 68, Campbellsburg, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008 at his residence.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13 at Providence Baptist Church, 51 Louden Lane, Campbellsburg.

    Friends may call after 5 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 12 at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg and after 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at Providence Baptist Church.

    Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Providence Baptist Church Building Fund. Cards will be available at the funeral home or the church.

  • Warnie Sparkman, 48

    BEDFORD, Ky, - Warnie Sparkman, 48 of Bedford died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at the Signature Health Care Center in Bedford.

    Funeral services were Thursday, Nov. 6, at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford, with the Rev. Louis Schuler officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Bedford.

    Mr. Sparkman was born Oct. 2, 1960, in Hazard, Ky., to the late Byrum and Harriett (Hamilton) Sparkman.

    He worked for Nugent Sand and Gravel. He served in the National Guard for many years. His passion was woodworking; he made many pieces, including furniture.

  • Ralph Wilkerson Gibson, 86

    PARIS, Ky. – Ralph Wilkerson Gibson, 86, of Paris died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at his residence.

    Graveside services were Monday, Nov. 10, at the Paris Cemetery, with the Rev. Reggie Gentry officiating.

    Mr. Gibson was born Oct. 9, 1922, in Alton, Ky., to the late Ethel and Victor Gibson.

    He and his wife, Bee, were formerly from Carrollton, Ky.

    He graduated from Harrodsburg High School. He entered the U.S. Army and served in the Armed Services Tank Division in the Philippines during World War II.

  • Laurence R. “Larry” Jeffries, 74

    Laurence R. “Larry” Jeffries, 74, New Castle, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 at Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange.

    He was the son of the late Newt W. and Ruthanna (Adams) Jeffries Jr.

    He was a farmer and retired as a teacher for the Henry County Schools. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of Point Pleasant Christian Church.
