    CARROLLTON, Ky. – Viola Abbott Frazier, 66, of Carrollton died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

    Funeral services were Saturday, April 4, at Tandy, Eckler, Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, with the Rev. Jerry Ison officiating. Burial was in the English Cemetery, Carrollton.

    Mrs. Frazier was born February 21, 1943 in Henry County to the late John Shelton and Iva Lee Payton Abbott.

    She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church.

  • George Harrison Marsh, 84

    CARROLLTON, Ky. – George Harrison Marsh, 84, of Carrollton died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at his residence.

    Funeral services were at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton Tuesday, April 7, 2009, with Rev. Chris White officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton. Carrollton Masonic Lodge No. 134 held a special Masonic Service Monday evening, Military Honors were presented by the Carrollton American Legion Post No. 41 at the Graveside on Tuesday.

    Mr. Marsh was born July 27, 1924 in Gallatin County to the late Andrew and Rhetta Bond Marsh.

    HANOVER, Ind. – Alice Louise Abbott Snow, 52, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Norton Hospital, Louisville, Ky.

    Funeral services were Sunday, April 5, at Tandy, Eckler, Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton. Burial was in the Warsaw Cemetery, Warsaw, Ky.

    Mrs. Snow was born January, 16, 1957, in Louisville to Margaret Louise Kieffer Abbott of Hanover, Ind. and the late Norman Offutt Abbott.

    She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

  • Lula Mae Cook, 85

    WARSAW, Ky. – Lula Mae Cook, 85, of Warsaw, formerly of Ghent, Ky., died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Gallatin Health Care Center in Warsaw.

    Funeral services were Saturday, April 11 at Tandy, Eckler, Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton with Rev. Graham Reynolds officiating. Burial was in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery in Ghent.

    Mrs. Cook was born Aug. 31, 1923 in Owen County, Ky. to the late James Ben and Blanche Thompson Stout.

    She was a member of the Baptist Church and a member of the Ghent Women’s Club.

    Sarah “Suzie” England, 63 of Bedford, originally from Frankfort, Ind., died Friday, April 3, 2009, at her son’s home following an extended illness.

    Survivors include two sons, Kirt England of Peru, Ind., and Kevin England and his fiancé, Patty Carson, of Bedford; two daughters, Lisa Elshire of Wabash, Ind., and Marcy Brescol of Lucky, Ohio; three brothers, George Williams of LaFayette, Ind., David Williams of Tipton, Ind., and Bill Williams of Kokomo, Ind.; a sister, Angelia Garmon, Tipton, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

  • Reba ‘Darlene’ Clifford, 57

    BEDFORD, Ky. – Reba “Darlene” Clifford, 57, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in La Grange, Ky.

    Funeral services were held Saturday, March 21, at Calvary Apostolic Church in Carrollton, Ky., with the Rev. Miles Miller, Jr. officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

    Tandy, Eckler, Riley Funeral Home 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton was in charge of the arrangements.

    Mrs. Clifford was born Aug. 28, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Miles Lee, Sr. and Anna Elizabeth Kirby Miller.

    ZIONSVILLE, Ind. – Della Elizabeth West, 95, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at St. Vincent Hospice Inpatient Unit in Indianapolis, Ind.

    Funeral services were Friday, March 20, at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford, Ky. with the Rev. Mark Graybiel officiating. Burial was in Bedford Cemetery in Bedford.

    She was born May 30, 1913 in Henry County, Ky., to the late Willie Harrison and Eullah Birch Spurr.

    She was a member of Carrollton Christian Church in Carrollton and the Carrollton Homemakers.

    BEDFORD, Ky. – Bernice Lee Wilson Hudson, 99, died Saturday, March 21, 2009.

    Funeral services were Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Milton Baptist Church with Rev. Ferrell Davis, Dr. Dennis Plank and Rev. Mike McArter officiating. Burial was in the Bedford Cemetery in Bedford.

    Ransdell Funeral Home, 441 Highway 42 West, Bedford, Ky.  was in charge of arrangements.

    She was born April 2, 1909 in Carroll County to the late Benjamin and Atha Simms Wilson.

    MILTON, Ky. – James David Parks, 51, of Milton died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at his residence.

    Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19 at the McDonald adn New Funeral Home, 202 N. Main St., Owenton, Ky. with Bro. Jimmy Cox officiating. Burial will be in the Owenton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

    Visitation will be Thursday, March 19th from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the time of service.

    He was born Aug. 25, 1957, in Breathitt County to the late Luther and Geneva Lansaw Parks.

  • Julia Wheeler Welch, 61

    BEDFORD, Ky. – Julia Wheeler Welch, 61, Bedford, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in La Grange, Ky.

    Ms. Welch was born Feb. 6, 1948, in La Grange to Ruby Lee and Nieva Wheeler.

    She enjoyed singing and participating in activities at the nursing home. She was a member of Hickory Grove Methodist Church.

    Survivors include her mother, of Bedford; an aunt, Joann (Bob) Hoskins, Bedford; an uncle, Buford (Lois) Drake; and several cousins.

    Her father preceded her in death.
