• Drexell Sharp, 69

    TURNERS STATION, Ky. – Drexell Sharp, 69, of Turners Station, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at his home.

    Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 20, at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg, Ky., with the Rev. Bobbie Wade officiating. Burial was in Turners Station Cemetery.

    Mr. Sharp was born June 6, 1939, in Drennon Springs, Ky., to the late Henry and Ruby Holmes Sharp.

    He enjoyed being outside, mowing the lawn, gardening, working on cars, wrestling, putting things together and playing pool.

  • Suzanne Graham, 56

    MILTON, Ky. – Suzanne Graham, 56, of Milton died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at University of Louisville Hospital, Louisville, Ky.

    Services were Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford, Ky., with the Revs. Kathy Allen and Paul Tweedy officiating.

    Ms. Graham was born in Carrollton March 5, 1952, to Grover and Dorothy Graham.

    She was a member of Mount Carmel Church and was office manager for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services Protection and Permanency.

  • Lindsay W. Stewart, 85

    MADISON, Ind. – Lindsay W. Stewart, 85, of Madison died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009 at The Waters of Clifty Falls, Madison.

    Funeral services were Sunday, Feb. 22, at Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison with the Rev. Drew Oakley officiating. Burial was in Carrollton, Ky., I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Full military honors were conducted at the graveside by the American Legion Jefferson Post 9.

    Mr. Stewart was born June 28, 1923, in Carroll County to the late Herman and Hallie Eades Stewart.

  • Dorothy Sue Berry, 68

    CARROLLTON, Ky. – Dorothy Sue Berry, 68, of Carrollton died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

    Graveside services were Saturday, Feb. 21, at Port Royal Cemetery, with Brother Bimp McAlister officiating.

    Prewitt Funeral Home, 425 N. Main St., New Castle, Ky., was in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Berry was born Feb. 13, 1941, in Henry County to the late John Daniel and Mary Mertz Berry. She was a member of Family Worship Center in Carrollton.

  • Linda J. Luhn, 60

    SCIPIO, Ind. – Linda J. Luhn, 60, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon, Ind.

    Services were Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home, North Vernon with the Rev. Terry Branum officiating.

    Mrs Luhn was born Jan. 28, 1949, in Canaan, Ind. to the late Guy and Wilma Banks Chandler.

    She attended school for 12 years in Ghent, Ky. She was employed at Arvin Industries for 33 years and was a member of Messiah Baptist Church and the Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary.

  • Bridget Berryman, 78

    Bridget Berryman, 78, Worthville, Ky., died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009 at Green Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton, Ky.

    Born Aug. 20, 1930 in Butler County, Ky., she was the daughter of Joseph and Dona Dockery Phelps.

    She was a homemaker and loved yard sales. She attended Worthville Christian Church.

    Survivors include two sisters, Martella Mason, Breckinridge County, Ky., and Esther Duke, Louisville, Ky.; two brothers, Chandler Phelps, Louisville, and Alton J. Phelps, Bowling Green, Ky.

  • Robert W. Garrett, 64

    GHENT, Ky. – Robert W. Garrett, 64, of Ghent died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at Carroll County Memorial Hospital.

    A Mass of Christian Burial was said Saturday, Feb. 14, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 507 Fifth St., Carrollton, with the Rev. Kavungal Davy officiating. Burial was in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery.

    Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, was in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Garrett was born Sept. 8, 1944, in Ghent to  William Edward Garrett and the late Bessie Raisor Garrett.

  • Donald Lee Carter, 63

    CARROLLTON, Ky. " Donald Lee “Donnie” Carter, 63, of Carrollton died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at his residence.

    Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 16, at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, with the Rev. Keith Mendenhall officiating. Burial was in Carrollton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

    Mr. Carter was born April 1, 1945, in Carrollton to the late Roy and Mary Jane Brock Carter.

    He was a former Carrollton city police officer and a former Carroll County deputy sheriff.

  • Velma Catherine Taylor, 89

    CARROLLTON, Ky. – Velma Catherine “Shorty” Taylor, 89, of Carrollton died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at Green Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton.

    Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carroll-ton, with the Revs. Michael Cammack and Larry Workman officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

    Mrs. Taylor was born March 8, 1919, in Trimble County, Ky., to the late Tony and Virgie Henry Westrick.

    She was a member of the Gospel Baptist Church in Carrollton.

  • Georgia Marie Gould Embree, 60

    CARROLLTON, Ky. – Georgia Marie Gould Embree, 60, of Carrollton died  Saturday, Feb. 7, at her home.

    Funeral services were Feb. 11 at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, 213 Fifth St., Carrollton. Cremation was chosen by the family.

    Mrs. Embree was born Dec. 16, 1948, in Owen County to the late Henry Clay and Florida Gould.

    She was an industrial cleaner in Carrollton.
