• Terry Lee Boldery, 57

    Terry Lee Boldery, 57, Madison, Ind., died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital.

    Mr. Boldery was born Dec. 11, 1951, in Madison to James Chester and Mary Frances Boldery Carroll. He was a former member of volunteer fire and rescue departments in Carroll and Trimble counties. He enjoyed fishing.

    Survivors include his mother; three sisters, Veronica Phillips of Deputy, Ind., Frances Hendren of Madison and Carol Boldery of Milton, Ky.; a brother, Anthony Carroll, Madison; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

  • Thurman R. “Roach” Cottrell, 70

    CARROLLTON, Ky. – Thurman R. “Roach” Cottrell, 70, of Carrollton died Friday, July 3, 2009, at Carroll County Hospital in Carrollton.

    Funeral services were Tuesday, July, 7 at Tandy, Eckler, Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton with Rev. Andrew Oakley officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

    Mr. Cottrell was born July 29, 1938, in Prestonville, Ky. to the late Herman and Effie Harsin Cottrell. He was of the Baptist faith.

  • Barbara King, 59

    Ghent, Ky. – Barbara King, 59, of Ghent died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at her residence.

    Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, July 1, at 1:00 p.m. at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home, 108 E. Main St. in Warsaw, Ky. with Rev. Kenny French officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Valley Family Cemetery in Ghent.

    Mrs. King, was born in Richmond, Ky. on January 17, 1950 to Ethal Jane and the late Henry Carpenter Sr.

  • Joseph S. Joslin, 41

    MADISON, Ind. – Joseph S. “Joe Baby” Joslin, age 41, of Madison died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital, in Madison.

    Mr. Joslin was born July 1, 1967 in Carrollton, to David and DeAndrea Andrew Joslin. He was a 1985 Graduate of Trimble County High School.

    He enjoyed traveling with his family, his pets, watching television, listening to music and talking on the phone with friends.

  • Mary Elizabeth Knox, 89

    Mary Elizabeth Johnson Knox, 89, of Madison died recently at her home.

    Services were Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, Madison. Burial was in Dupont Cemetery in Dupont, Ind.

    Mrs. Knox was born Nov. 28, 1919, in Jennings County, Ind., to the late Samuel and Josephine Shepherd Johnson.

    She graduated from North Madison High School in 1937. She married Robert L. Knox April 19, 1941.

  • Minnie Lawson, 94

    Minnie Lawson, 94, of Milton died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at her residence.

    Services were Saturday, June 20, at Wood-Oakley Funeral Home in Milton, with the Rev. Mike McArter officiating. Burial was in Moffett Cemetery in Milton.

    Mrs. Lawson was born Oct. 8, 1914, in Morgan County, Ky., to the late Leslie and Leota White Craft. She attended Hanover Apostolic Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible and spending time with her family.

  • Ellen D. Hicks, 63

    CARROLLTON, Ky. – Ellen D. Hicks, 63, of Carrollton died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at her residence in Carrollton.

    A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation was chosen by the family.

    Tandy, Eckler, Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., in Carrollton is in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Hicks was born March 31, 1946, in Henry County, Ky. to the late John and Ellia Moore Gray.

    She was a housewife, a member of the Baptist faith and a member of Disabled Veterans of America of Henry County.

    WORTHVILLE, Ky. – Ralph M. Herald, 85, of Worthville died Thursday, June 18, 2009, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Ind.

    Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 23 at Dean Memorial United Methodist Church in Worthville with Rev. Dennis W. Norton officiating. Burial was in the Squiresville Cemetery in Owen County, Ky.

    Mr. Herald  was born June 17, 1924, in Owen County to the late Elmer and Olia Breeden Herald.

  • Charles G. Fields, 58

    Charles G. Fields, 58, of Bedford, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

    A memorial service was held Wednesday, June 17, at Bedford United Methodist Church. Cremation was chosen.

    Mr. Fields was born July 5, 1950, in Louisville to John W. and Rosemary Fields.

    He was as an information technology specialist for Cincinnati Bell. He was a member of the Safety and Rescue Team at the Madison Regatta and was a member of Bedford United Methodist Church.

    He enjoyed boating on the Ohio River.

  • Alexander W. Merola, 78

    Alexander W. Merola, 78, of Bedford died Monday June 8, 2009, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in La Grange, Ky.

    Mr. Merola was born April 10, 1931, in Hazelton, Pa., to the late Alexander and Anna Marie Merola.

    He served in the U.S. Air Force; he was honorably discharged Feb. 20, 1956.

    He was a member of Masonic Lodge Nos. 711 and No. 158. He was mayor of Colwyn, Pa., from 1985-89.

    He attended Hickory Grove United Methodist Church in Bedford and enjoyed woodworking.
