    Mrs. Downey was born Feb. 10, 1938, in Henry County, to William Isham and Martha Jane Newman Downey.

    Norma Eldridge Perkinson, 86, of La Grange, Ky., died Tuesday, May 19, 2009.

    She was a retired bookkeeper for the old Kelly’s Grocery in Crestwood and a cashier at the old Kroger store in La Grange. She was a member of Sligo Baptist Church.

    CAMPBELLSBURG, Ky. – Maxie D. Moore, 71, of Campbellsburg died, Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange, Kentucky.

    Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 23 at Ransdell Funeral Home, in Campbellsburg with Rev. Mike Huff of Providence Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in the Campbellsburg Masonic Cemetery in Campbellsburg.

    Mr. Moore was born Oct. 3, 1937, in Defoe, Ky. to the late Charles and Lizzy Ann Blackaby Moore.

  • William “Bill” Calvin Webber, Sr., 77

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – William “Bill” Calvin Webber, Sr., 77, of Indianapolis, formerly of Carrollton, Ky. died Monday, May 18, 2009,

    Funeral services were held May 23 in Conkle Funeral Home, Indianapolis. Burial was in the West Ridge Park Cemetery, in Indianapolis.

    Mr. Webber was a retired manager for Pyrofax Gas, retiring in 1986 and later worked and retired from the Indianapolis Star.

    He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Clermont Church of the Nazarene. He graduated from Carrollton High School.

    Mrs. Brophy was born Aug. 26, 1959 in Lansing, Mich., to the late Patricia Sharp and Sylvester Robinson.

    CARROLLTON, Ky. -  Mabel Louden, 91, of Carrollton died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

    Funeral services were Saturday, May16 at Carrollton Christian Church with Dr. Bob Brocious officiating. Burial was in the Franklinton Cemetery in Franklinton, Ky.

    Tandy, Eckler, Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton was in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Louden was born Nov. 11, 1917, in Perry County, Ky. to the late Penelope and William Davidson.

    She was a homemaker, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

    Mrs. Springer was born in October 1924 to the late Alton and Ethel Garrett Wheeler.

     David Aaron Mikesell, 48, of Hanover Ind., died Saturday May 23, 2009, at Hanover Health and Rehabilitation.

    Mr. Mikesell was born July 31, 1960, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Kenneth Mikesell and Barbara Mikesell Earl. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, cutting wood and working puzzles. He was a Christian.

    EMINENCE, Ky. – James “J. B.” Clem,  79, of Eminence died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Baptist Northeast Hospital in La Grange, Ky.

    Graveside services were Friday, May 8,  at Pleasureville Cemetery in Pleasureville with the Rev. Michael Duncan, pastor of Eminence Baptist Church, officiating. Prewitt Funeral Home, 425 N. Main St., New Castle was in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Clem was born in Bedford, Ky. to the late Joseph E. and Sada Harmon Clem.

  • James ‘J.B.’ Clem, 79

    EMINENCE,  Ky. – James “J.B.” Clem, 79, Eminence, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in La Grange, Ky.

    He was the son of the late Joseph E. and Sada Harmon Clem. He was a truck driver and a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church, Bedford.

    He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the 2nd Infantry Division during the Korean War. He earned a Purple Heart.

    He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 282, Eminence.
