  • Dorothy Louise Mix, 78

    SEYMOUR, Ind. – Dorothy Louise Mix, 78, died Sunday, June 7, 2009, at the Covered Bridge Health Campus of Seymour.

    Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the Voss and Sons Funeral Chapel, 316 North Chestnut Street, in Seymour with the Rev. Rick Prather officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.

    Visitation will be Wednesday, from 12:00 p.m. until time of service.

    Mrs. Mix was born on Aug. 13, 1930, in Carroll County to the late James and Mary Brooks Adams. She was a homemaker.

  • Elizabeth Ann Moore Lewis, 39

    Elizabeth Ann Moore Lewis, 39,  died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, in Trimble County, Ky.

    Cremation was chosen by the family. A memorial service will be  held at a later date.

    Graham Dunn Funeral Home, 213 Fifth St., Carrollton, Ky. is in charge of arrangements..

    Elizabeth was born Sept. 4, 1969, in Indianapolis, Ind. to Jerry and Carol Moore.

    Survivors include her parents; her husband, Richard Scott Lewis; and four sisters, Melinda Kuhns, Diana Cochran, Darlena Humble and Vickie Thrasher.

  • Charles C. Looney, 74

    TYLER, Texas – Charles C. Looney, 74, of Tyler, formerly of Bedford, Ky. died Friday, June 5, 2009, in Tyler.

    Funeral services will be Thursday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tandy, Eckler and Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton, Ky. Burial will be in the New Castle Cemetery in New Castle, Ky. The Carrollton American Legion Post No. 41 will provide Military Honors at the graveside.

    Visitation will be Wednesday, June 10 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

  • Charles C. Looney, 74

    Charles C. Looney, 74, of Tyler, Texas, formerly of Bedford, Ky., died Friday, June 5, 2009, at his home.

    Mr. Looney was born May 21, 1935, in Lee County, Va., to the late Clarence R. and Pearl Rowe Looney. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of Brownsboro Assembly of God Church.

    He worked as a die-setter at Trane Industries.

  • Bennie Carroll May, 88

    Bennie Carroll May, 88, of Lancaster, Ind., died Saturday, June 6, 2009, at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, Ind.

    Mr. May was born March 22, 1921, in Henry County to the late Thomas Benton Sr. and Mabel Welch May. He lived most of his life in Jefferson County, Ind., near Lancaster.

    He worked early in life as a freight hauler for Belknap in Louisville. He also worked five years for the Indiana State Highway Department as truck driver and worked 17-and-a-half years in the maintenance and janitorial department as night supervisor at Madison Consolidated High School.

  • Dean Waits, 72

    Dean Waits, 72, of Madison, Ind., died Thursday, May 28, 2009, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.

    Mr. Waits was born Sept. 13, 1936, in Shelby County, Ky., to the late Robert Smith Waits and Ada Bell Stivers Waits. He was raised in the Trimble County area from age 6 and attended high school here.

    He married the former Dorothy L. “Dottie” Meadows on June 20, 1956.

  • Thelma Louise Richmond, 80

    Thelma Louise Richmond, 80, of Milton died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.

    Mrs. Richmond was born April 30, 1929, in Carroll County to the late Oscar and Lillian Bromwell Harmon. She enjoyed wood-working, sewing, gardening, canning and cooking. She was a member of Mount Carmel Church.

  • William Anthony “Bill” Jones, 51

    NEW LIBERTY, Ky. – William Anthony “Bill” Jones, 51, of New Liberty died, Saturday, May 30, 2009.

    Funeral services  will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4  at the Ghent Second Baptist Church, with Rev. John Sharpe officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday. Burial will be in the Ghent Second Baptist Church Cemetery.

    Arrangements are being handled by McDonald and New Funeral Home, 202 North Main Street, Owenton, Ky.

    Mr. Jones was born May 9, 1958, in Ghent, Ky. to the late Bertha Jane Jones.

    MADISON, Ind. – Dean Waits, 72, of Madison died Thursday, May 28, 2009, at King’s Daughter Hospital in Madison.

    Funeral services were held May 31 at Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison with Pastor Richard Jankosky officiating. Burial was in Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison.

  • Marie Keeton Burress, 79

    MADISON, Ind. – Marie Keeton Burress, 79, of Madison, died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.

    Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, June 3 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison with Rev. James Danny McCarty officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison.

    Mrs. Burress was born July 27, 1929, in Magoffin County, Ky. to the late Luther and Nannel Lee McCarty Keeton.
