    William A. “Bill”/”Billy” Proulx, 70, Bedford, Ky, died Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Baptist Northeast Hospital. He was a native of Coventry, R.I. He lived in Trimble County since 1997, where he and his wife owned and operated several small businesses.

  • Thomas Edward Jett, 87

    Thomas Edward Jett, 87, of Hanover, Ind. died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 at Thornton Terrace in Hanover, Ind. He was born Dec. 15, 1924 to the late Chester Thomas and Nannie Mae Davis Jett in Carroll County, Kentucky.

    Survivors include his wife of 64 years Delphine Craig Jett, his children; Donald Wayne Tomlinson, Bedford, Ky., Nancy Carol Morgan, Hanover, Ind, Brenda Sue Lynch, Indianapolis, Ind and Pat Elaine Cooper; six grandsons; eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

    Service was Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 at Ransdell Funeral Home.

    David Bradley Craig, 87, Bedford, Ky., died February 6, 2012 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana.

    He was born Oct. 4, 1924 to the late Elliott Surber and Cora Mable Wise Craig.

    Survivors include a son Larry David Craig; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters; several nieces and nephews.

    Services were held Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 at Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford Kentucky. Pastor Charlot Nash officiated the service. Burial was in the Bedford Cemetery, Bedford, Kentucky

    Merle Lee Brewer, 80, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012.

    Born Oct. 13, 1931 in Carroll County he was the son of the late Ryland Pratt and Ruth Dawkins Brewer.

    Survivors include his wife Gertie Price Brewer; daughters, Donna Kaye Gosser, Bonnie Lynn Riebel, Merlyne Ann Brewer Ratcliffe, Jamie Marie Osborne; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; three stepsons; three step-grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by wife, Nancy Brent Brewer and two brothers Harold Vernon Brewer and Robert Allen Brewer.

  • Sylvia Dean Jones Lofton, 82

    Sylvia Dean Jones Lofton, 82, of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.  The daughter of the late John Turner and Hattie Cravens Jones, she was a member of Sulphur Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Dalton Junior Lofton, II; five brothers and one sister.

    Survivors include her husband, Dalton Junior Lofton, Bedford; two daughters, Brenda Taylor Shiley, Bedford, and Donna Gene Hite, Tenn.; a son Jack LD Taylor, Bedford; two sisters, a brother, nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren

    Virginia L. Hendershot, 82, Bedford, Ky., died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at her home.

    Virginia was born on Nov. 20, 1929 in Bethel, Ohio to the late Byrant Mayhugh and Edna Oetzel.

    Survivors include three sons, Edward Hendershot, Kenneth Hendershot, Gary Hendershot, and one daughter, Victoria Hendershot; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

    Services were Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at Moffett Cemetery with Reverend Ferrill Davis officiating the service.

    Eddie “Tim” Gordon, 79, Milton Ky., died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at the Waters of Clifty Falls Nursing Home.

    Born July 14, 1932 in Frankfort, Ky. he was the son of Mace and Lillian McCord Gordon.

    Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Jean Cosby, Volga, Ind.; one sister, and one brother.

    Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Wood-Oakley Funeral Home in Milton.

    Services will be Thursday Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. at the Wood-Oakley Funeral Home with burial in Moffett Cemetery.
