• Mary L. Frost, 97

    Mary L. Frost, 97, Bedford, Ky., died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Signature Health Care in Bedford, Ky.

    Mrs. Frost was born Nov. 6, 1914, in Trimble County to the late Edward B. and Callie Vanhook McCain. 

    Survivors include three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe D. Frost, and two children Eddie Frost and Jacqueline Frost Mullikin.

    Visitation is 10-11 a.m. today, Wednesday, May 30, at Ransdell Funeral Home.

  • Dorothy Mae Rowlett Kendall, 87

    Dorothy Mae Rowlett Kendall, 87, Milton, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at Signature Health Care Center in Bedford.  

    Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Greenwood, Milton, and a son, Larry Kendall, also of Milton.  

    Services were Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, with interment at Bedford Cemetery.

    Memorial bequests may be made to Mt. Carmel Church. Envelopes provided at the funeral home.

    Hubert W. Ball, 73, Bedford, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at his residence.  

    Survivors include his wife, Nancy L. Fugate Ball, Bedford; one daughter, Tambra Lee Ball Fox, Bedford.

    Services were Friday, May 18, 2012 at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Clint Elliott officiating. 

    Cremation was chosen.

    Lt.Col Robert K. Wood (USAF retired), 82, died at his home in Niceville, Fla., on May 2, 2012.
    He was born Feb. 12, 1930 in Bedford, the son of Charles W. and Johnnie Daily Wood.

    Survivors include three sons, Terry C. Wood, Niceville, Fla., Brian K. Wood, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Kevin N. Wood, Gillette, Wyo.

    Visitation and services were held Monday, May 7, 2012 at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home in Niceville.

    Ruby Ann Couch Day, 67, Madison, Ind. near Brooksburg died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Norton Hospital, Louisville, Ky.

    Born May 11, 1945 in Mistletoe, Ky, she was the daughter of Estil and Ida Robertson Couch.
    Survivors include her husband Emmett R. Day, Madison; two sons, Doug Day and Brian Day, both of Madison.

    Services were Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, in Madison, Ind., officiated by Bro. John Davis.

    Burial was in Brooksburg Cemetery in Brooksburg, Ind.

  • Thomas Ryan Pulliam, 67

    Thomas Ryan Pulliam, 67, Worthville, died Saturday, April 28, 2012 at his residence.

    Born Dec. 24, 1944 in Carroll County, he was the son of George and Mary Scholey Pulliam. His parents preceded him in death.

    Survivors include a brother William Pulliam, Milton and other relatives.

    Services were Monday, May 6 at Wood-Oakley Funeral Home with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery near Milton, Ky.

  • Franklin C. Mertz, 69

    Franklin C. Mertz, 69, New Castle, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Norton Suburban Hospital. He was the son of the late Fred & Maudie (Frazier) Mertz.

    Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Mertz, Bedford; three daughters, Tammy Downey, Carrollton, Melissa Mertz and Amanda Mertz, both of Bedford; step-daughters, Kathy Childs and Patty Moore, both of Milton; one step-son, Robert McIntyre, Sanders; a sister, Sue Rabourn, Campbellsburg; two brothers, Bill Mertz, Carrollton, Jimmy Mertz, LaGrange; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

  • Virginia C. Lambert, 95

    Virginia C. Lambert, 95, Siren, Minn., died April 3, 2012 in Siren.

    Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Nelson; three grandsons; four sisters and one brother.

    Her husbands, Marold Ross and James Lambert, daughter Carol Loftin and two brothers, Bernie Fisher and Eldred Fisher, preceded her in death.

    A memorial service will be held at Bedford Baptist Church in Bedford Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 11 a.m.

    Edling Funeral Home in Grantsburg, Wis., was in charge of arrangements.

    Natalee Faith Garcia entered this life prematurely on May 2, 2012 at The King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Ind. She was to be the loving daughter of Mario and Heather Tribble Garcia. Natalee Faith was expected to be born in September.
