    WARSAW, Ky. – Helen Gullion Maxwell, 85, of Warsaw died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008 at the Gallatin Health Care Center, Warsaw.

    Funeral services were Monday, August 11, at 2:00 p.m. at Ten Mile Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wayne Gullion officiating and  Bro. Edwin Kirkpatrick, and Rev. Tim Calloway assisting. Burial was in the Warsaw Cemetery, Warsaw.

    Samuel Ellis “Sam” Kidwell, 90, of Milton, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Hanover Nursing Center in Hanover.

    Born Sept. 18, 1917 in Trimble County, he was the son of William and Lottie Fox Kidwell. He was a life-long farmer who enjoyed hunting and caring for cattle. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II and an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan.

    Survivors include two nephews, William A. Ward and Terry Graves, and several great-nieces and nephews.

    His parents, a sister, Beryl Ward Graves, and a nephew preceded him in death.

  • Robert Whayne Leatherman, 51, of Sulphur, died August 6, 2008

    Robert Whayne Leatherman, 51, of Sulphur, died August 6, 2008 at his residence.

    Born February 15, 1957 in Shelbyville, he was the son of the late Ora Lee Davis and Tommy Leatherman.

    He was self-employed and helped many with farm work as well as his regular jobs. He loved to hunt and fish.

    Survivors include a brother Tommy Leatherman, Milton; sister Sharon Finney, Pleasureville; aunt Thelma Berry, Port Royal; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

  • James Richard Troxell, 76, of Seymour, Ind. died Sunday, August 3, 2008

    James Richard Troxell, 76, of Seymour, Ind. died Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility, Columbus, Bartholomew County, Ind.

    Born October 19, 1931 in La Grange, he was the son of the late Richard James and Cordie (Kirby) Troxell.

    He retired as process engineer at RCA in Indianapolis, Ind. and served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was dedicated to his job and his family.

    NEW LIBERTY, Ky. –Robert “Bobby” Robbins, 61, of New Liberty, Ky., died at his home Tuesday, July 29, 2008.

    As of press time Tuesday, funeral arrangements were pending at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, 213 Fifth St., Carrollton.

    CARROLLTON, Ky. – Robert “Bobby” Cyrus Robbins, 61, of Carrollton died Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at his home.

    Funeral services were Friday, Aug.1, at Family Worship Center, 2520 State Hwy. 227, Carrollton, with the Rev. David Wotier officiating. Burial was in Owenton Cemetery, Owenton, Ky.

    Mr. Robbins was born Jan. 4, 1947, in Carrollton to  the late Carl and Scottie Ball Robbins. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 134,  Carrollton.

    MADISON, Ind. – Betty Lucas Wright, 79, of Madison died Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at Signature Health Care, Louisville, Ky.

    Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, with Pastor Chuck Lynch officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, north of Madison.

    Mrs. Wright was born Jan. 1, 1929, in Carroll County, Ky., to the late Hubert R. Sr. and Dale Byron Burton Lucas.

    MADISON, Ind. – William Oscar “Bill” Meeks, 71, of Madison died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

    Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, with Pastor Mike Barnes officiating. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery, Moorefield, Ind.

    Mr. Meeks was born Jan. 11, 1937, in Henry County Ky., to the late George Ebb and Jesse Warren Meeks. He married the former Barbara Althoff on June 6, 1958.

  • Margaret Neola Hoops, 88

    Margaret Neola Hoops, 88, of Bedford, died Thursday, July 24, 2008.

    She was formerly of Goshen , Ky. and a native of Trimble County.

    She was a housekeeper at the former Melrose Inn and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

    Survivors include three nieces, Patricia (Gary) Corley, Debra (Brad) Hargrove, and Sheila Rowlett; three nephews, Nelson Hoops, Wallace Hoops, Ronnie (Teresa) Jones and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
