  • Robert Samuel Tribble, 85

    Robert Samuel Tribble, 85, of Pendleton, formerly of Louisville, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008.

    Born in Shelbyville March 6, 1923, he was the son of James Jones and Newell Grace (Hulette) Tribble.

    A four-great-nephew of Daniel Boone, he was very proud of his Kentucky pioneer heritage. During World War II he served as a radar technician with the 233rd AAA Searchlight Battalion in the South Pacific. He remained active with their reunion activities and edited their newsletter.

  • Wanda Lee Lowry, 69

    CARROLLTON, Ky. – Wanda Lee Lowry, 69, of Carrollton died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

    Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Worthville United Pentecostal Church in Worthville, Ky., with the Revs. Raymond Sharon, Glen Gibson, James Allen and Edgar Tetrick officiating. Burial was in the Worthville Cemetery.

  • Thomas Gerald Hamilton, 56

    CARROLLTON, Ky., – Thomas Gerald Hamilton, 56, of Carrollton died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at Veterans Hospital, Louisville, Ky.

    Funeral services were Friday, Aug. 22, at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, with the Rev. Carroll W. “Bimp” McAlister officiating. Burial was in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Madison, Ind.

  • Barbara McQueary Keith, 63

    Barbara McQueary Keith, 63, of Scottsburg, Ind., died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008.

    Born May 11, 1945 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Gus and Ola Mae Murphy McQueary. She enjoyed fishing, shopping and working in flowers. She was a member of the Solid Rock Community Church in Scott County, Ind.

  • Greg A. Curd, 54

    MARYVILLE, Tenn. – Greg A. Curd,  54, of Maryville died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville.  

    Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 21, at Smith Trinity Chapel, Maryville. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m.

    Mr. Curd was a self-employed certified dental lab technician for 27 years.  

  • James Robert Kuhlman, 50

    James Robert Kuhlman, 50, of North Vernon, Ind., formerly of Trimble County, died Saturday Aug. 23, 2008 at his residence.

    Born in Tampa, Fla. Jan. 17, 1958, he was the son of Jack and Loraine Stangle Kuhlman. He was employed with the Trimble County Road Department for nine years. He enjoyed watching wrestling and going boating.

    Survivors include his mother, Bedford; two sons, Mike and Mark Kuhlman, both of North Vernon, Ind.; one daughter, Karla Kuhlman, North Vernon, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and several aunts, cousins and other relatives.

  • Edna Mae Ogden Pyles, 84

    MILTON, Ky. – Edna Mae Ogden Pyles, 84, of Milton died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center, Hanover, Ind.

    Funeral services were Friday, Aug. 22, at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Milton, with the Revs. Paul Tweedy and Lowell Ogden officiating. Burial was in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton.

    Mrs. Pyles was born Nov. 27, 1923, in Trimble County to the late William Perry and Lizzie Smith Ogden. She was married to Chester Allen Pyles in La Grange, Ky., on Sept 7, 1940, in a double wedding with her twin sister.

  • Clarence J. Gosman, 88

    MADISON, IND. – Clarence J. Gosman, 88, of Madison died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.

    Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, with Bro. Clarence Doyle officiating. Burial was in the Olive Branch Cemetery near Madison.

  • Catherine Turner, 83

    WORTHVILLE, Ky.  – Catherine Turner, 83, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at her home.

    Funeral services were Sunday, Aug. 24, at the Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, 213 Fifth St., Carrollton, with the Rev. Dennis W. Norton officiating.

    Mrs. Turner was born Aug. 11, 1925, in Owenton, Ky., to the late Bert and Martha Webster Wilson. She worked for 25 years with Joyce Shoe Factory of Madison, Ind. She loved sewing and quilting for other people.

    She was a member of the Worthville Baptist Church.

  • Barbara Sue Long, 62

    NEW CASTLE, Ky. – Barbara Sue Frazier Long, 62, of New Castle died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at her residence.

    Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, 425 N. Main St., New Castle.

    Funeral services are 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 21, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Duncan, Hosparus chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in the New Castle Cemetery.

    Mrs. Long was born Sept. 22, 1945, in Louisville, Ky. to the late Walter and Betty (Dezarn) Frazier.
