  • Charles William Buchanan Sr.

    Charles William Buchanan Sr., 75, Madison, Ind., died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008 at his residence.

    Born Oct. 27, 1932 in Switzerland County, Ind., he was the son of John and Nora Buchanan.

    He was a construction carpenter. He was a member of the Carpenters’ Union, American Legion Post #9 and the Milton United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

    DEPUTY, Ind. –Tammy T. Porter, 33, died Sept. 25, 2008, at her home.

    A memorial graveside service will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, in the English Cemetery in Carroll County, Ky.

    Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, Ky., is in charge of arrangements.

    Ms. Riddle was born Jan. 16, 1975, to the late Janie (Kinman) Smith and David Stephan of Madison, Ind.

    She was a homemaker.

  • Lloyd Shelby Jeffries

    Lloyd Shelby Jeffries, 65, Turners Station, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008 at Baptist Hospital North East in LaGrange.

    Born July 23, 1943 in Henry County, he was the son of Newt and Ruth Anna (Adams) Jeffries.

    Shelby worked as a dairy farmer and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Oldham County Coon Hunters Club.

  • Alma Ruth Scott,92

    BEDFORD, Ky. – Alma Ruth (Rowlett) Scott, 92, of Bedford died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Signature HealthCare of Trimble County in Bedford.

    Born August 8, 1916, in Trimble County, she was the daughter of Frank and Grace M. Staples Rowlett.

    She was a homemaker and loved her family. She was a member of Bedford Baptist Church for more than 50 years.

  • Oscar G. Wiley, 94

    GREENSBURG, Ind. – Oscar G. “Pat” Wiley, 94, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at the Four Seasons Health Care Center in Columbus, Ind.

    Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 29, at Bass and Gasper Funeral Home, 402 E. Bennett St., Westport, Ind., with Pastor Larry Tingle officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Aerie Cemetery in Letts, Ind.

    Mr. Wiley was born Oct. 16, 1913, in Davisville, Mo., to the late George Washington Jr. and Mamie (Williamson) Wiley.

    MILTON, Ky. – Mary A. Gomez, 30, Milton, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at Baptist Hospital Northeast Hospice Unit in LaGrange.

    Born Dec. 22, 1977, in Madison, Ind., she was the daughter of Edward Whitaker and Stella McDole Aldridge.

    She was a homemaker and loved animals.

  • Rosemary Smith Clifford, 70

    MADISON, Ind. – Rosemary Smith Clifford, 70, Madison, Ind., formerly of Milton, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

    Born Sept. 13, 1938, in Moorefield, Indiana, she was the daughter of Dale and Helen Marie Adams Smith.

    She was a member of Milton United Methodist Church in Milton, Ky.. She enjoyed cross-stitching, sewing, reading and cooking.

    Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Rene Clifford of Hoover, Ala. and Lisa Rae Hansen of Evergreen, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

  • Jennie William O’Neal Yager, 84

    CARROLLTON, Ky. – Jennie William “Billie” O’Neal Yager, 84, of Carrollton died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.

    Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 19, at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton, with the Rev. Chris White officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

    Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, was in charge of the arrangements.

    Mrs. Yager was born April 15, 1924, in Carrollton to the late Arch and Lillian (Aubrey) O’Neal.

  • Warren Noble, 66

    CARROLLTON, KY. – Warren Noble, 66, of Carrollton died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at Norton Suburban Hospital, Louisville, Ky.

    Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, with the Rev. Graham Reynolds officiating. Burial was in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery, Ghent, Ky.

    Mr. Noble was born Aug. 30, 1942, in Wolfe County, Ky., to the late Cecil and Gertrude (Fugate) Noble.

    He was a farmer.
