  • Madalyn Wood,93

    MILTON, Ky. – Madalyn Wood, 93, Milton, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Florence.

    Born Nov. 17, 1914, in Trimble County, she was the daughter of Ernest and Dolly Welty Lehue. She was postmaster of Milton Post Office for 24 years, head of the Milton Elementary School cafeteria in the 1950s, coached Little League baseball and was an avid sports fan.

    She taught Sunday school at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and was a member of the Milton United Methodist Church.

  • Ronald Eugene Bailey

    Ronald Eugene Bailey, 64, Milton, died Monday Sept. 29, 2008 at Baptist Hospital Northeast Hospice Unit in LaGrange.

    Born May 15, 1944 in Tenn., he was the son of Arthur and Ruby Corley Bailey.

    He was a truck driver for United Parcel Service and a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He was a member of Corn Creek Baptist Church.

    Survivors include his wife, Peggy Coghill Bailey, one son, Tracy Bailey, Indianapolis, Ind., and three grandchildren.

    His parents and one son, Randy Bailey, preceded him in death.

  • Charles William Buchanan Sr.

    Charles William Buchanan Sr., 75, Madison, Ind., died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008 at his residence.

    Born Oct. 27, 1932 in Switzerland County, Ind., he was the son of John and Nora Buchanan.

    He was a construction carpenter. He was a member of the Carpenters’ Union, American Legion Post #9 and the Milton United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

    DEPUTY, Ind. –Tammy T. Porter, 33, died Sept. 25, 2008, at her home.

    A memorial graveside service will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, in the English Cemetery in Carroll County, Ky.

    Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, Ky., is in charge of arrangements.

    Ms. Riddle was born Jan. 16, 1975, to the late Janie (Kinman) Smith and David Stephan of Madison, Ind.

    She was a homemaker.

    Lloyd Shelby Jeffries, 65, Turners Station, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008 at Baptist Hospital North East in LaGrange.

    Born July 23, 1943 in Henry County, he was the son of Newt and Ruth Anna (Adams) Jeffries.

    Shelby worked as a dairy farmer and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Oldham County Coon Hunters Club.

    BEDFORD, Ky. – Alma Ruth (Rowlett) Scott, 92, of Bedford died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Signature HealthCare of Trimble County in Bedford.

    Born August 8, 1916, in Trimble County, she was the daughter of Frank and Grace M. Staples Rowlett.

    She was a homemaker and loved her family. She was a member of Bedford Baptist Church for more than 50 years.

    GREENSBURG, Ind. – Oscar G. “Pat” Wiley, 94, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at the Four Seasons Health Care Center in Columbus, Ind.

    Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 29, at Bass and Gasper Funeral Home, 402 E. Bennett St., Westport, Ind., with Pastor Larry Tingle officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Aerie Cemetery in Letts, Ind.

    Mr. Wiley was born Oct. 16, 1913, in Davisville, Mo., to the late George Washington Jr. and Mamie (Williamson) Wiley.

    Born Dec. 22, 1977, in Madison, Ind., she was the daughter of Edward Whitaker and Stella McDole Aldridge.

    She was a homemaker and loved animals.

    MADISON, Ind. – Rosemary Smith Clifford, 70, Madison, Ind., formerly of Milton, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

    Born Sept. 13, 1938, in Moorefield, Indiana, she was the daughter of Dale and Helen Marie Adams Smith.

    She was a member of Milton United Methodist Church in Milton, Ky.. She enjoyed cross-stitching, sewing, reading and cooking.

    Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Rene Clifford of Hoover, Ala. and Lisa Rae Hansen of Evergreen, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
