    Michael Steven Dwight Monroe, 59, Madison, Ind.; died Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 8:05 a.m. at the Robley Rex Veterans Medical Center in Louisville.

    Born Feb. 22, 1953 in Madison, he was the son of Junior “Dee” Dwight and Elizabeth “Betty” J. Ackerman Monroe.

  • William R. ‘Sug’ McAlister, 88

    GOSHEN, Ky. –William R. “Sug” McAlister, 74, of Goshen, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at his residence.

    Funeral services will be Thursday, June 14, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton with the Rev. Gary MaGuffee and the Rev. Carroll “Bimp” McAlister officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday, June 14, at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

    Funeral services were held, Tuesday, June 5, at Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Ind. with the Rev. Frank Repper and Pastor Tom Starks officiating. Interment was in the Bedford I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

    Roger McCord, 85, Milton, died Saturday May 25, 2012 at the Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville.

    Born March 2, 1927 in Milton, he was the son of Calvin and Maggie Lee Howe McCord.

    Survivors include four daughters, Ruth Ann Hortenberry, Milton, Debbie Wingham, Bedford, Liz Gatewood, Madison, Ind., Diane Hedden; three sons, Steve McCord, Milton, Sam Curt Lewis, Milton, Junior Bruce, Madison, Ind.; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.

    Allen Ernest Detmer, 70, Milton, Kentucky died Saturday, May 26, 2012, at his family home.

    Mr. Detmer was born Aug. 30, 1941, the son of the late Charles Christian and Ella Marie Theiman Detmer.

    Survivors include two daughters, Christy Facemire, Madison, Ind.; Carmen Detmer-Liter, Milton, Ky.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Andrew Detmer.

  • Linda Sue Kidwell, 62

    Linda Sue Kidwell, 62, Bedford, Ky., died Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Ind.

    Ms. Kidwell was born March 11, 1950, in Trimble County to the late Frank and Leona Brooks Kidwell.

    Survivors include two sisters, Elaine Williams, Bedford, Ky., and Catherine Pyles, Carrollton, Ky.; and two brothers, Hurley Kidwell of Milton  and Buford Kidwell, Campbellsburg, Ky.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Thurman, Robert and Fredrick Kidwell.

    Mary L. Frost, 97, Bedford, Ky., died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Signature Health Care in Bedford, Ky.

    Mrs. Frost was born Nov. 6, 1914, in Trimble County to the late Edward B. and Callie Vanhook McCain. 

    Survivors include three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe D. Frost, and two children Eddie Frost and Jacqueline Frost Mullikin.

    Visitation is 10-11 a.m. today, Wednesday, May 30, at Ransdell Funeral Home.

    Dorothy Mae Rowlett Kendall, 87, Milton, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at Signature Health Care Center in Bedford.  

    Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Greenwood, Milton, and a son, Larry Kendall, also of Milton.  

    Services were Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, with interment at Bedford Cemetery.

    Memorial bequests may be made to Mt. Carmel Church. Envelopes provided at the funeral home.

    Hubert W. Ball, 73, Bedford, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at his residence.  

    Survivors include his wife, Nancy L. Fugate Ball, Bedford; one daughter, Tambra Lee Ball Fox, Bedford.

    Services were Friday, May 18, 2012 at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Clint Elliott officiating. 

    Cremation was chosen.
