Touch up paint and other finishing touches are underway as motorists continue to weave through traffic cones on the Milton-Madison Bridge. Pictured in the foreground is one of the bases of the original bridge superstructure now mounted on concrete beside the revamped Milton boat ramp. A new concrete and steel dock has been installed for the convenience of maritime visitors to downtown Milton.

The public ceremony to dedicate the new Milton-Madison Bridge, previously scheduled to have occurred yesterday, has been postponed, according to joint announcements by the Milton-Madison Bridge Project, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and Indiana Department of Transportation.
The new U.S. 421 bridge spans the Ohio River between Kentucky and Indiana (mile points 18.7 to 19.2) and replaced an earlier 1929 structure with a wider span on the rehabilitated original piers.
