  • RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University has announced that 3,099 students earned Dean’s List honors for the Spring 2015 semester.
    The List includes four Bedford residents: Jacob Blair, a senior Journalism major; Brian Hemmer, a senior Aviation major; Brandon Ray, a senior Police Studies major; and Mackenzie Sutherland, a junior majoring in General Studies in Justice and Safety.

  • On June 12, 1965, Thomas, Sr. and Jeannetta Kimberlin (Tom and Netta) exchanged wedding vows and then repeated those vows 50 years later. They have five children, Thomas, Jr., Betty Hoskins, Jack, Neva Wilson, and Laura Brown. They have 13 grandchildren, 1 angel, 12 great-children and counting. They celebrated their anniversary at the Morgan Community Center in Bedford on Saturday, June 13, 2015, with over 150 friends and family.

  • Hannah Roberts, a 2013 Trimble County High School Honor Graduate and recipient of the Kelly Jewell Memorial Scholarship and BES Scholarship that same year, has made Western Kentucky University’s Dean’s List for the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semesters.
    To achieve this honor a student must take at least 12 course hours or more while maintaining a 3.5 GPA and above throughout the semester.
    Along with this recognition, Hannah has also been accepted into the limited number of applicants to the nursing program at WKU, beginning with the Fall 2015 semester.

    The recent opening for a new Trimble County Schools Superintendent position has necessitated a search process, which includes the Trimble County Board of Education, an appointed screening committee and the engagement of professional search consultant Mike Oder who represents the Kentucky School Boards Association.
