    It was said to be one of the best Veteran’s Day programs in the area. As teachers, students, community leaders, Veterans, and parents exited the program, chatter filled the Trimble County Middle School gymnasium with praise about the wonderful 2015 program.

  • I have come to the realization that the amount of time, energy and stress invested in hair is simply not worth the effort. When I was younger I would agonize for hours over my hair. Using mousse, curling irons, blow dryers and more mousse I would fuss and fret, rewash, use more mousse and finally leave the bathroom with my hair looking pretty much the same. I’m not certain what look I was trying to achieve but I never seemed to meet that objective.

  • Many people would sum up their Thanksgiving experience by saying, “it was a feast.” However, with most feasts there is the potential for leftovers and Thanksgiving is no different.
    Many of us are acquainted with leftover turkey sandwiches, turkey enchiladas and even turkey potpie. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics suggests the following as a means of reinventing Thanks-giving leftovers:
    l Prepare turkey soup. Boil the carcass and add diced sweet potatoes, green beans and other vegetables.

  • The University of Kentucky, Kentucky State University and Purdue University are    co-sponsoring the 2015 Goat and Sheep Webinar on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The webinar will focus on herd health and production.
    The Trimble County Cooperative Extension Service will be hosting this webinar session. Presentation schedule is as follows:

  • Nov. 21, 1985 (30 years ago)
    A Bedford City employee, Jim Jennings was injured last week after a chemical gas explosion when a sewer line broke at the system’s treatment plant. Jennings was taken to Carroll County Memorial Hospital and immediately transferred to King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Ind. He was put into intensive care and kept for three days under observation. Jennings is recovering but is still weak.

    Friday, Nov. 20
    The Trimble County Senior Citizens Commodities from  12:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by going out to eat and shopping at LaGrange.
    Saturday, Nov. 21
    The Trimble County Historical Society will hold its November meeting at 1 p.m. at the Trimble County Public Library. The election of officers will beheld during this meeting.
