     Work is progressing at the construction sight of the LG&E Generating Station at Wise’s Landing.

    Trimble County Raider football team won their opening game for the 1982-83 season over the Wildcats of Henry County by a final score of 14-8.
    Hardy Creek Bridge has been refloored and it stands sturdy for the occasional wild antics of the creek.

    Bedford Baptist Church had a picnic last Sunday at the Trimble County Recreational Park.

  • The Trimble County Apple Festival Committee will hold its annual Apple Pie Contest on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012.  Judging will take place at 11 a.m. at the New Life Assembly of God Church located on the courthouse square in Bedford, Kentucky.

    Rules for the Apple Pie Contest are as Follows:

    1. One entry per person.

    2. Disposable aluminum pie plates must be used!

    3. Please no dairy-Refrigeration is not available.

    4. Entries will be taken from 10-11 a.m. No late entries will be accepted!

    TCHS boys golf hosts Henry County at Cardinal Hills, 4:30 p.m.
    CPR class today and tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the Extension Office Building 43 High Country Lane Bedford. The cost for the Class is $5. No need to call just show up and sign in the day of the class.

  • Ask Signature HealthCARE of Trimble County Administrator Mark Witt about his facility and he’ll quickly tell you the Bedford facility is a “gem in Trimble County.” During a recent interview Witt extended an invitation to the community at large to visit the facility, “look how far we’ve come and celebrate our success together.”

    Signature HealthCARE has come a long way in the last three to four years from almost being shut down by the state to now being recognized as a Five Star Facility by the federal government, Witt said.

  • Trimble County High School Youth from the Trimble CARES Coalition in Bedford, participated in Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America’s National Youth Leadership Initiative in Nashville, Tenn. The NYLI was part of CADCA’s 2012 Mid-Year Training Institute, which brought together more than 1,900 substance abuse prevention specialists and advocates from throughout the country to learn new strategies to tackle their community’s substance abuse problems.
