  • Ricky Wainscott and Susan Welch both of Carrollton would like to announce their engagement and upcoming wedding on Saturday, July 14, 2012.

    The bride is the daughter of Patty Welch of Carrollton and the late Joe “JoJo” Welch.

    The groom is the son of Loretta Wainscott of Carrollton and the late Bobby Wainscott.

    The ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. with a reception to follow at the American Legion Post 41 in Carrollton. No formal invitations will be sent. All friends and family are invited.

  • Andrew G. Jennings, Bedford, received a Bachelor of Music at Indiana University Southeast in May of this year.

    Jennings is the recipient of a full, two-year scholarship to study for his Masters at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. His study is Sacred Music with emphasis in choral conducting. Andy will also be a graduate assistant in the Music Department.

    These cases were heard in Trimble County Court the week of June 25-June 29, 2012.

  • Retirement planning is important for all individuals; however, it is especially important for women.  At some point during their lives, 80 to 90 percent of women will be solely responsible for their own finances.  Unfortunately for the majority of them, it will be later in life.  Women tend to have shorter work histories than men, as a result of entering and leaving the workforce due to raising children.  In addition, fewer women participate in employer-sponsored retirement plans compared to men.

    The county 4-H Fair will be July 8-11. There are booths available for clubs and organizations. Also space for yard sales, flea markets and other crafts to show and sell.

  • Anna Patton and Darrell Edens Jr. were married at Gatlinburg Chapel Ministries on Saturday June 9, 2012. In attendance were Stacey Edens, Felecia Webster, Dusty and Leigh Edens.

    Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Edens Jr. are now residing in Bedford.

    A reception has been planned for a later date. Invitations will be sent.

  • Shane and Rita Power of Owenton would like to announce the birth of their daughter, Makenzie Brooke Power. Born Monday, March 26, 2012, at 11:43 p.m. at Frankfort Regional Hospital in Frankfort, Ky, she weighed 5 pounds 11 ounces and was 18.5 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Melba Taylor of Carrollton, and John and Charlotte Carter of Trimble County.

    Paternal grandparents are Scott and Joan Power of Owenton.

    Great-grandparents are Katherine Carter of Carrollton and Eula “Poppy” Perkins of Owenton.
