  • Early fall is the perfect time to start preparing your home for cold weather. There are several no cost or lost cost improvements that you can make to your home to reduce your winter bills.

    According to the United States Department of Energy, 46 percent of your utility bill goes for heating and cooling your home.  To reduce your heating costs, adjust your thermostat to as high or as low as is comfortable in the winter.  You may also want to consider a programmable thermostat. 

  • Now that fall has begun, county livestock producers should be alert to the increasing chance of frost and the risk some forages have of causing cyanide (Prussic Acid) poisoning.

  • 30 Years Ago (Sept. 30, 1982)
    Trimble County High School’s Football Homecoming will be tomorrow night. There will be a parade at 5:30 with several units participating. The Band Boosters will be sponsoring a chili supper beginning around 5.

    Insurance rates go down as Fire Department ratings go up. Milton Fire Dept. just passed an inspection and their rating went from class nine to a class Ten. This happens when a department adds equipment, puts in fire hydrants and learns how much water they can deliver.

  • Wednesday, Sept. 26
    Stop smoking classes will be at the Trimble Co Health Department every Wednesday, starting Sept. 26 thru Dec. 12, 2012.  This is the Cooper Clayton Method and it is a 12 weeks course.  Materials and Nicotine replacements provided.  Times are 6-7 p.m.

  • Trimble County Middle School Principal Mike Genton has announced the school’s 7th Grade Students of the Month for August and the Teacher/Staff Spotlight.

    “We are extemely proud of these people and their hard work,” Genton said.
