    The Trimble Banner publishes all misdemeanors, felonies and small-claims judgments recorded in district court, as well as all civil suits recorded in circuit court. Juvenile court cases are not published.

    Crime reports are provided by local law enforcement agencies. Charges or citations reported to The Trimble Banner do not imply guilt.

    The followng cases were heard the week of May 21-May 25, 2012 in the Trimble County Courthouse.

  • The Trimble County Board of Education on Saturday, going into session as the Trimble Count School District Financial Corporation, OK’d a resolution to issue bonds for $1.25 million to replace the roof at Trimble County High School.

    Superintendent Marcia Haney-Dunaway said Tuesday that work on the building is expected to begin in three weeks.

    The board awarded the project to the lowest bidder, Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal in Lexington, with a bid of $1.05 million for the project, including an alternate bid to replace rooftop gas lines.

  • Typically ticks begin to appear in late spring and early summer as warm weather sets in, but this year, ticks have been active much earlier than normal. I actually picked off my first tick on a walk in late March.

    Well, let me tell you about the recent adventures of Troop #1861 from Milton—adventures made possible by their loyal customers, families and local shoppers.

  • Tuesday, June 5: Hamburger on bun w/ Cheese, Lettuce/Tomato/Pickles, Pretzels, Orange with Milk.

    Wednesday, June 6: Chicken Rings w/Bar-B-Q Sauce, Broccoli Florets w/Dip, Peach cup, Ritz snack chips with Milk.   

    Thursday, June 7:  Corn Dog, Baby Carrots / Dip,
    Strawberry Cup, Juice or Milk.

    Friday, June 8: Taco Meat /Cheese, Corn Chips, Shredded Lettuce /Salsa, Applesauce, Cookie with Milk.

  • The Trimble County School District is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.  Meals will be provided at the sites and times as follows:

  • 30 Years Ago (May 27, 1982)
    George Adkins, secretary or the Cabinet in Frankfort reminisced humorously about his school days to 74 graduates Friday night. Valedictorian Ora Leland Scott III and  Salutatorian Rhonda Sue Bares addressed the Commencement audience before Larry Moore, school principal presented each of them with their diploma.
