    Trimble CARES meets at noon in the Family Resouce and Youth Services Center at Trimble County High School. Lunch provided.
    The Trimble County Board of Education meets at 6 p.m. at the board office on Wentworth Drive, Bedford.
    The annual Youth Spaghetti Dinner is 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Morgan Community Center. Cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children 11 and younger. Proceeds will be used to help send young people to the General Assembly this summer.

  • Milton Masonic Lodge No. 947 F&AM held its installation of 2011 officers on Dec. 20.

  • Anita Wentworth and Donald Rowlett were married Jan. 20, 1961, at Bedford Christian Church with the Rev. Herman Rowlett, uncle of the groom, officiating.

    A reception hosted by their children will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, to honor the couple at their Rowlett Lane home.
    The couple has three children, Gina Ball, David C. Rowlett and Doug Rowlett, and four grandchildren.
    The family invites the community to stop by and wish the couple well. No gifts, please.

  • Autumn Chamness of Frankfort announces the birth of her son, Gaige Mayson Chamness.

    Gaige was born Dec. 21, 2010, in Frankfort Regional Medical Center. weighing 6 pounds, 7 ounces, and measuring 19 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are Vicki Gaither of Bedford and the late John Chamness.

  • In a down economy, Americans are saving more, but their level of savings may not be enough to help them navigate through an unforeseen financial hardship.
    According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis in the U.S. Department of Commerce, the personal savings rate for Americans in 2010 was around 6 percent.
    America Saves Week and Kentucky Saves Week, the state-level campaign, were created to encourage people to find ways to save more, whether that’s building a savings account or emergency fund or paying off credit card debt. This year, the week is Feb. 20-27.
