  • W.C. “Doc” “Buddy” and Myrna Holloway celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012.

    Doc worked at M&T Chemicals for 31 years and Myrna was president and CEO of Carrollton Federal Savings and Loan when she retired after 41 years of employment.

    They are both enjoying their retirement together at their home in Trimble County and are both very active members of Cove Hill Baptist Church.

    The couple has one daughter, Cynthia McNew and one grandson, Joey McNew Jr,. both of Carrollton.

  • The Kentucky State Police is now accepting applications from Kentucky high school seniors who are interested in qualifying for $1,000 scholarships that can be used for education expenses beginning in the fall of 2012. To be considered, students must complete and submit all application materials, which are available on the KSP website at www.kentuckytstatepolice.org, by April 1, 2012.
