The Milton City Commission met last Thursday at the municipal building in Milton. Mayor Denny Jackson called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. After approving the minutes from the previous meeting and the monthly financial reports, the Commission had a second reading of the ordinance increasing the franchise fee for utility companies to 3 percent. In other business, the Commission chose to hire Angela Dunaway as city clerk. Commissioners Troy Alexander and Seth Willis abstained from voting to make the personnel change.
