    The following decisions were rendered in Trimble District Court during the week of May 22, 2017, with the Honorable Judge Diana E. Wheeler presiding:

  • Bedford Baptist Church, Galactic Starveyors VBS, is June 25-29, from 6:30 p.m.-8:45 p.m., for infants through the 6th grade!  Parents are invited on Thursday, June 29, at 7 p.m., to see what their children have learned this year and then enjoy a picnic supper.

  • By the time you read this, this will be old news and the nation will most likely have already moved on to the next outrageous thing.
    However, as I’m writing this, Kathy Griffin is making headlines.
    Who is Kathy Griffin (and why should you care)? She’s a 56-year-old comedian and self-identified “D-list celebrity” known for being abrasive, brash, crude and sarcastic.
    Most recently she made the national news when she posed for a photo, holding up the fake, but realistic, bloody decapitated head of President Donald Trump.

  • A Special Meeting of the Trimble County Water District No. 1 will be held today, June 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the district’s office at 34 East Morgan Drive in Bedford for the purpose of preclosing on the USDA Rural Development Loan to the District for the construction of improvements, and to review the proposed construction plans with the recommended contractor, and to consider such other business as may come before the district.

  • FRANKFORT, Ky. – Trimble County Circuit Court Clerk Stacy Bruner participated in an interactive session on the latest Kentucky court technology, got a refresher on handling probate cases and learned about recent court legislation at the 2017 Circuit Court Clerks Spring Conference on April 18-19 in Frankfort. The Administrative Office of the Courts and the Kentucky Association of Circuit Court Clerks provided the education program for the state’s circuit court clerks. The Kentucky Association of Counties hosted the event at its headquarters.

  • Mosquitoes are appearing earlier than normal this year. University of Kentucky entomologists encourage Kentuckians to take precautions to prevent mosquito bites on themselves and their pets.
    “Mosquitoes breed in standing water. The recent rains we have had, coupled with the upcoming warm weather, may help them get off to a strong start,” said Grayson Brown, entomologist in the UK College of Agriculture, Food and Environment.
