  • The Morgan Community Center will host a Community Thanksgiving dinner from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22. The Bedford City Commission voted to allow the use of the facility for the event.

    A letter published in The Trimble Banner suggesting a community eventfor everyone who either could not afford dinner or was alone and had no one to spend the day with initiated interest the event, according to Deputy City Clerk Rita Davis.

    Halloween Costume Party from 6-9 p.m. at Morgan Community Center. Music, games, eats and treats. Prizes for costumes so come dressed to win. $5 per person or $15 for family (4 or more) All proceeds support the Hands of Christ Food Pantry.

    Tri-County Community Action Agency’s Board of Directors will meet at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Campbellsburg State Police Post meeting room located at 180 Citation Lane just off the I-71 exit in Campbellsburg. The public is invited to attend. Tri-County CAA provides services in Henry, Oldham and Trimble Counties.

  • The fall can be a very expensive time of year for families with back-to-school clothing and supplies, as well as fall sports registrations and supplies. With all of the early fall activities, many families may not have planned ahead for Halloween expenses.  Halloween ranks as the third most expensive holiday, following Christmas and Valentine’s Day. This might surprise some people, since typically the holiday does not involve large gift giving or family events. Nonetheless, the price of costumes, candy, and decorations can add up.

  • Tachycardia is a dangerously rapid heartbeat, arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat and dead is no heartbeat at all — and I had all three recently.

    That may be a slight exaggeration and a bit of melodrama, but the truth is I experienced severe panic recently.

    I lost my camera.

    And by “my camera” I mean the one the Chronicle gave me to use and not mine to keep.
