  • We sweat more in the summer. Have you ever wondered why?  Sweat is your body’s way of cooling itself.  You sweat more in the heat, while exercising, when you have a fever or when you are nervous.  Your body is trying to get back to 98.6 degrees F.
    When your body gets hot, water absorbs the heat. It then travels to the blood and eventually is removed by sweating the heated water. As the sweat evaporates, it cools the skin, adding to the cooling effect.

    Seventeen members of the Trimble County Middle School Beta Club and club sponsor and teacher, Crystal Harris, recently shared their 2014-15 activities and projects with the Bedford Rotary Club. Each year, Bedford Rotary is proud to interact with these fine students in support of their services and projects for Trimble County.

    Bedford town board member Woody Bruther handed in a letter of resignation at Monday night’s board meeting. Bruther stated in his closing statement, “In the 3-and-a-half years, I have served on the board, I have tried to serve well. Due to the negative response from the board, I feel it is best to resign.”  Bruther said he felt defeated over the issues of unsafe houses in town and the board’s unwillingness to allow the city police officer to carry a gun.

  • The Second Annual American Red Cross Blood Drive in memory of Christopher Goodin will be held Tuesday, June 30, from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Trimble County Middle School cafeteria.
     

  • Summer Reading has begun at Trimble County Public Library. Babies, children, teens and adults of all ages are welcome to participate and win prizes all summer long. To celebrate the occasion, the library will be hosting a Superhero Summer Reading Kickoff on Thursday, June 11 from 1-3 p.m.

  • A reception in honor of the 50th wedding anniversary of Darrell Ginn and Karen Adams Ginn, Madison, will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, at the North Madison Christian Church.
    Darrell Ginn and Karen Adams were married on June 26, 1965 at the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church near Madison.

    The Trimble County Hymn Sing will be held at Pleasant View Baptist Church is Wises Landing at 7 p.m. Bro. Gregg Fisher will be in charge of the service.
    Saturday, June 6
    The Phoenix Animal Clinic, in conjunction with the Trimble County Health Department Environmental Services, will be hosting a rabies clinic between the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Trimble County Park under the shelter by the ball fields.
