    Bedford Rotarian Bob Yowler recently took on another important task for the club: Applying for Rotary District funds to assist local service projects. “Rotary District Simplified Grants” are available annually for qualifying clubs, if some hard work and matching club funds can be accomplished. Yowler traveled to Elizabethtown this spring and took courses so our club could apply. On June 24, Bob provided an excellent summary of the program.

  • Trimble County Head Start/Preschool serves 3 and 4 year old income and age eligible children who live in Trimble County.  A limited number of tuition-based slots for children who are four-years old by the public school cutoff date may be available for families who do not meet income guidelines.  Please call (502) 255-3620 to schedule an appointment to complete an enrollment application for your child.

    Trimble County Senior Citizens 3 County Carnival will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Senior Center at the Trimble County Park.
    Monday, July 14
    Trimble County Senior Citizens will host a Picnic Field Trip at 11:00 a.m. at the Senior Center at the Trimble County Park.

  • Lexie Roberts made the A/B Honor Roll for Trimble County High School for the 4th nine weeks. Lexie’s name was inadvertently omitted from the honor roll list, which was published in the June 12 edition of The Trimble Banner.

    According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, at any given second in the United States, an estimated 660,000 people are driving while using a cell phone or manipulating an electronic device. In 2012, over 3,000 people died and around 420,000 more were injured in automobile accidents involving a distracted driver.
