Area beef cattle producers should plan to attend the Regional Beef Cattle Field Day on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the Taylor Cattle Farm in Shelby County. Registration begins at 4 p.m. followed by tours at 5 p.m.

Tour topics include: Limit-Feed Options with Ted Perry, Beef Technical Services Manager, Purina Mills;

Pfizer 50K Program with Rod Schoenbine, Cattle Genetics Specialist, Pfizer Animal Genetics;
Carcass Ultrasounding with Cobie Rutherford, Marketing Coordinator, Kentucky Beef Network;

Mark your calendar today—the next statewide 2nd Sunday is Oct. 9. 2nd Sunday is designed to get individuals, families and children moving and engaged in activity—whether they bike, walk, run, play or participate in fun and healthy activities.

Area land owners, with an interest in woodlands, may want to check out one of the Fall Forestry Webinar Series being offered at the Trimble County Extension Office beginning on October 18th and continuing into November. Each webinar will be carried live from UK’s Lexington campus and will be conducted by UK Extension Forestry Specialists. Sessions will start at 6:30 PM and conclude by 8:00 PM.
