  • Blood drive set June 30 at TCMS in memory of Christopher Goodin

    The Second Annual American Red Cross Blood Drive in memory of Christopher Goodin will be held Tuesday, June 30, from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Trimble County Middle School cafeteria.

  • Library kicks off summer reading

    Summer Reading has begun at Trimble County Public Library. Babies, children, teens and adults of all ages are welcome to participate and win prizes all summer long. To celebrate the occasion, the library will be hosting a Superhero Summer Reading Kickoff on Thursday, June 11 from 1-3 p.m.

  • Anniversary celebration set

    A reception in honor of the 50th wedding anniversary of Darrell Ginn and Karen Adams Ginn, Madison, will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, at the North Madison Christian Church.
    Darrell Ginn and Karen Adams were married on June 26, 1965 at the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church near Madison.

  • Trimble County Hymn Sing to be held Thursday

    The Trimble County Hymn Sing will be held Thursday, June 4, at Pleasant View Baptist Church is Wises Landing at 7 p.m. Bro. Gregg Fisher will be in charge of the service.
    All area singers, musicians and ensembles are encouraged to come participate. Everyone is incited to come enjoy the musical worship experience.

  • End of year school schedule

    The end of the 2014-15 school term is a week away with the final day for students being next Thursday, May 28. Following is a schedule of end of year school activities for local students:
    Bedford Elementary School
    Thursday, May 21—5th Grade Event Night at 6 p.m.
    Wednesday, May 27—Awards Day; Kindergarten Graduation at 9 a.m.
    Milton Elementary School
    Tuesday, May 26—5th Grade Parent Breakfast, 8:15 a.m.; 5th Grade Talent Show, 9 a.m.; 5th Grade Moving Up Ceremony, 6 p.m.

  • Brennan Kunkel selected honorary Governor’s Scholar

    Each year students across the state of Kentucky has upcoming Seniors, who apply to the Governor’s Scholar program. It is a highly competitive and long application process. Brennan Kunkel is one of the 2015 recipients from Trimble County High School. He will leave in June to attend the summer residential program along with outstanding students across the state.

  • Alex Dixon selected for Governor’s Scholars

    Alex Dixon has been chosen to attend the upcoming Governor’s Scholars Program for the summer of 2015. The mission of the GSP is to enhance Kentucky’s next generation of civic and economic leaders.
    When asked why he was chosen to be a Scholar he stated, “It was because of my ACT score.”
    He desires to attend Bellarmine University in Louisville. His future plans are to pursue an education in Science and someday become a ‘Software Engineer.’

  • Cody Kidwell completes basic, now training at San Antonio

    SPC Cody Kidwell has completed his U.S. Army basic training as a member of the 434th Field Artillery Brigade, C Battery, 1st Battalion, 19th Field Artillery Class at Fort Sill, Okla. His graduation exercises were held on May 8, 2015. He is currently enrolled in training as a medic at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.
    SPC Kidwell is a 2009 Trimble County High School graduate and has earned a degree in physics from the University of Kentucky. Cody is the son of Carla Kidwell and Doug Kidwell, both of Trimble County.

  • Road work underway in Trimble

    The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s District 5 office has advised that lane closures and delays are possible in Trimble County this week on Ky. 316 between Buck Creek Road and Ky. 55 (between mile points 4.9 and 7.7) due to road resurfacing. Motorists can also expect lane closures and delays on Ky. 1226 (Palmyra Road) between Culls Ridge Road and the Trimble/Carroll County line (mile points 2.4 to 3.8) due to road resurfacing.
