  • Library teen lock-in is tomorrow

    The Trimble County Public Library’s annual end-of-summer “Library After Hours” for middle and high school students is tomorrow from 5-9 p.m.
    “Library After Hours” is a lock-in style event, featuring illusionists from Impossible Magic, pizza, popsicles, Wii, Guitar Hero, games and DIY projects.
    Teens are encouraged to register in advance by stopping by the library or calling the library staff at (502) 255-7362.

  • Library’s summer reading program focus of July 21 Bedford Rotary meeting

    The Trimble County Public Library has actively addressed the problem of “Summer Slide” (summer learning loss with kids) through a third year of summer reading programs during June 1 through Aug. 1. Library staff member Amanda Neace discussed the summer reading program during the July 21 meeting of the Bedford Rotary Club.

  • Get ready for the Bedford Bash

    The Bedford Loan & Deposit Bank will host the 26th Annual Bedford Bash next Friday, Aug. 7, in the bank parking lot.
     The Bash will kick off at 6:30 p.m., and will feature an appearance by the Trimble County cheerleaders, a concert by Six Miles South and the Ninth Annual Bedford Bash Car Show.

    Bedford Rotary welcomed District Governor Mike Kull to our July 7th meeting. Mike is serving as our District 6710 Governor during July 2015 through June 2016, and will be visiting all 57 clubs in the District.  Bedford Rotary was his first stop.

  • Elisabeth Goodin guest speaker at Rotary Club

    Elisabeth Goodin, of Trimble County Middle School, has competed successfully in pageants locally and statewide (Rupp Arena) this year.  She is on to Nashville to compete in mini-teen contests nationally during 24–26 July. Bedford Rotary was delighted to welcome her and her father, Keith Goodin, for a brief visit to our June 30 meeting.

  • Eastern announces Dean’s List

    RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University has announced that 3,099 students earned Dean’s List honors for the Spring 2015 semester.
    The List includes four Bedford residents: Jacob Blair, a senior Journalism major; Brian Hemmer, a senior Aviation major; Brandon Ray, a senior Police Studies major; and Mackenzie Sutherland, a junior majoring in General Studies in Justice and Safety.

  • Kimberlin’s celebrate 50 years

    On June 12, 1965, Thomas, Sr. and Jeannetta Kimberlin (Tom and Netta) exchanged wedding vows and then repeated those vows 50 years later. They have five children, Thomas, Jr., Betty Hoskins, Jack, Neva Wilson, and Laura Brown. They have 13 grandchildren, 1 angel, 12 great-children and counting. They celebrated their anniversary at the Morgan Community Center in Bedford on Saturday, June 13, 2015, with over 150 friends and family.
