With the recent news stories about child abuse, and death, it is easy to turn away and let the social service system deal with the problems.
In Trimble Family Court, the events that sometimes bring out the worst in parents are examined and remedies are put into place. But family court judges, lawyers and social workers have hundreds of cases each year, and sometimes, the child goes back to the same home with the parents or caregivers that mistreated them in the first place.
Gary and Emily Wright of Tucson, Arizona will be celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on November 22, 2011. They planned to celebrate with travel to Monument Valley. They are both graduates of Trimble County High School Class of 1959. After careers in Lexington, Kentucky, they retired to Tucson in 2000. Gary’s parents were Daniel and Barbara Wright of Bedford and Emily’s parents were Rev. Harry and Madalyn Wood of Milton. They have one son, Christopher Townsend Wright and one granddaughter Emily Catherine Wright.
The community Thanksgiving dinner on November 22 is coming together nicely, organizers say. Eight churches from Bedford and Milton will prepare and serve the food. Numerous volunteers have expressed their willingness to help set up and clean afterward.
The Milton Christian Church on 35 School Hollow Road wants to “Give Thanks” to the Lord by serving Him in serving others and we would like to give you that opportunity as well. We will be opening the church building Monday through Friday, Nov. 14 through Nov. 18 at the listed hours, for the community to come and get free clothing and any other items that may be on hand.
At the end of the event (Friday at 3p.m.) the items will be boxed up and given to a free store that will give the rest of the items away. Nothing will be sold to make money.
Trimble County Middle School recently recognized the 7th grade Students of the Month for September.
Kayla Jones is the Female Student of the Month. Kayla’s favorite classes are Reading and Math. Her favorite TV shows are NCIS, CSI, and the Mentalist. Outside of school Kayla enjoys volleyball and basketball. She plans to attend the University of Kentucky or Western Kentucky University and pursue a career in Criminal Justice.
