  • Trimble students graduate at Indiana Wesleyan University

    Two students from Trimble County were among the 1,400 students who received degrees during graduation ceremonies Aug. 13 at Indiana Wesleyan University’s main campus in Marion, Ind.

    Locals graduating were: Adam Benecke, 2527 Bells Ridge Road, Bedford, M.B.A., applied management; and Amy Liter, 3482 Liberty Road, Milton, M.B.A., applied management.

    Randal & Patricia Smith of Bedford, Ky., and Anita & John Nevils of Carrollton, Ky,, are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Ashley Smith, to Justin Whipple, son of John & Lisa Whipple of Galeton, Pa., & Michelle & Chris Piaquadio of Fort Walton Beach, Fl.

    The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of Trimble County High School and is employed at Gulf Coast Immediate Care Center.

    The groom is a 2000 graduate of Galeton High School in Pennsylvania, and is employed at Transfield Services.

  • The Infinite Realm in concert at Milton baptist Sunday

    The Infinite Realm will present a concert of Christian music at the Milton Baptist Church on Sunday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m.


    The multi-talented group of Trimble County High School alumni has ministered to churches, civic functions, and prisons through a variety of music styles, including southern gospel, contemporary, 1960s pop vocal, jazz, country and others.

  • Trimble junior wins natl. academic award

    Trimble County teen James Line won the National Beta Club Social Studies Competition this summer, beating out contestants from across the nation in the prestigious event held in Nashville, TN.  Line, a junior at Trimble County High School, beat out approximately 50 other Beta Club test-takers who had placed either first or second in their state-sponsored events.

  • Tiphanie McClellan, Kenny Riley exchange vows in Oklahoma

    Tiphanie McClellan of Woodward, OK, and Kenny Riley, Milton, were married July 29, 2011, at the home of the bride’s parents in Woodward.

    The bride is the daughter of Brent and Kitty Evans, Woodward, OK. The groom is the son of Jesse and Ruby Riley, Bedford, Ky.

    The couple resides in Milton.

  • Photo exhibit ends this week at library

    Recently, I traveled from a flower garden in Milton to a ballgame in Carrollton then to a nursing home in Cincinnati where four lively ladies were celebrating over 400 years of living. From there I went to see the Brooklyn Bridge and then to Tokyo Towers in Japan.

    I did all of this at the Trimble County Public Library through photographs taken by Phyllis Codling McLaughlin, former editor of The Trimble Banner and The News-Democrat.
