Revival services will be held beginning Tuesday, April 22 and continuing through Sunday, April 27 at Mt. Tabor Wesleyan Church located on Hwy. 1226 midway between Milton and Bedford.

Services will begin at 7:00 pm nightly, Sunday school at 9:45, morning worship 10:30 and Sunday evening at 5:30. Everyone is welcome to attend.
A Registration Fair is scheduled for Friday, May 9, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Head Start building, located next to Trimble County Middle School. Trimble County Head Start/Preschool serves 3 and 4 year old income eligible children who live in Trimble County. A limited number of tuition-based slots for children who are four-years old by the public school cutoff date (October 1, 2014) may be available for families who do not meet income guidelines. Each year the Bedford Rotary Club selects a person from the Trimble County area for its “Citizen of the Year Award.” The purpose is to highlight achievements of an individual who has contributed positively to our community.
“Service Above Self” is the general theme for the Rotary International Organization.
The club is soliciting suggestions from the community for a potential recipient of this award. This involves sending in a recommendation outlining the achievements. The deadline for receipt of the recommendation is Tuesday, May 6, 2014.
Hannah Elaine Roberts, a 2013 Trimble County High School honor graduate and recipient of the Kelly Jewell Memorial and Bedford Elementary PTO Scholarships, has earned the honor and high academic achievement of President Scholar At Western Kentucky University of the 2013 fall semester.
In recognition that April is National Child Abuse Prevention month, the Ohio Valley United Charities, Inc., is sponsoring ten performances by the Blue Apple Players of Louisville, for area elementary students about ‘body safety’ at schools in Trimble, Carroll, Gallatin, Henry and Owen counties, April 21-29.
The Trimble County Public Library will be hosting new local author, Jennifer Goodin, for a discussion and book signing on Thurs., April 17 at 6:30 pm. Goodin’s new novel, Truth and Grace, will also be available for purchase at the event.

Heard of the Icelandic horse breed? Maybe one or two of the Bedford Rotary Club attendees at the Feb. 18 meeting had. An excellent and informative presentation on this fascinating breed was given by Carrie Brandt and her mother, Maggie, of Shelbyville.

Anyone want to try an “Iron Man” competition? It’s only a 140.6-mile distance, which must be completed between 7:00 a.m. and midnight the same day, and involves a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and finally a marathon run of 26.2 miles.
It was exhausting sitting there and hearing about this at the recent Bedford Club meeting on Feb. 11. John and Stacey Crawley of Crawley Heating and Cooling, Madison, provided a comprehensive overview of the program, of which they are participants.
