  • Thanks-Giving at Milton Christian

    The Milton Christian Church on 35 School Hollow Road wants to “Give Thanks” to the Lord by serving Him in serving others and we would like to give you that opportunity as well. We will be opening the church building Monday through Friday, Nov. 14 through Nov. 18 at the listed hours, for the community to come and get free clothing and any other items that may be on hand.

    At the end of the event (Friday at 3p.m.) the items will be boxed up and given to a free store that will give the rest of the items away. Nothing will be sold to make money.

  • Harold, Stethen to wed May 10

    Mary Kaitlin Herald, Milton, and Andrew Stethen, Bedford, have announced their engagement to be married.

    Mary is the daughter of Lori Taylor and Mike Herald. Andrew is the son of Mike and Donna Stethen.

    The wedding is to be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the Persimmon Ridge Golf Course, Louisville.

    Melinda McKee Clyde of Cynthiana, Ky. and Christopher Noel Greenwood of Milton, Ky. exchanged vows Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Cynthiana Presbyterian Church. Rev. Patrick Laney officiated the ceremony.

  • TCMS honors Students of the Month

    Trimble County Middle School recently recognized the 7th grade Students of the Month for September.

    Kayla Jones is the Female Student of the Month.  Kayla’s favorite classes are Reading and Math. Her favorite TV shows are NCIS, CSI, and the Mentalist. Outside of school Kayla enjoys volleyball and basketball.  She plans to attend the University of Kentucky or Western Kentucky University and pursue a career in Criminal Justice.

  • Area schools plan Veteran’s Day events

    Milton Elementary

    Milton Elementary School will have a special program honoring veterans on Monday, Nov. 7, at 1:15 p.m. The special guest speaker will be Lynn Romans, a Milton Elementary alumnus whose son, Darrin Potter, gave his life in defense of his country in Iraq. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

    Trimble County Middle School

    Trimble County Middle School will honor veterans in our community with a visual exhibit, as well as a short program from 9-9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Refreshments will be provided afterwards.

  • Commemorate your fish or game with free online certificates

    A new online tool from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources will allow hunters, anglers and trappers to create personalized certificates to help celebrate their experiences.

    Users can upload photos of their fish or game and enter details about their experiences to produce printable certificates suitable for framing. The certificate program is available from Kentucky Fish and Wildlife’s website at fw.ky.gov.
