The 24th Annual Trimble County Senior Citizens Benefit Golf Scramble will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, with tee off at 9:00 a.m. at the Cardinal Hills Golf Course in Bedford.
Bring your own four-man team. The $55 per person entry fee includes cart, green fee, lunch and drinks. All proceeds benefit senior citizens.
Lots of prizes will be given, and the event will feature a “Win $10,000 Hole in one Contest.”
On Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, JCTC Trimble County Adult Education will be holding an Open House and drawing. There will be 12 Free GED tests drawn with a total value of $240.
Adult Education moved this summer to the former middle school facility at 116 Wentworth Avenue, Room 112, Bedford. Everyone is invited to the Open House that is from 12 – 2 p.m. Refreshments will be provided and the drawing will be held at 1 p.m.

On June 24, JCTC Trimble County Adult Education held a graduation ceremony at Bedford Elementary School. In addition to being recognized for obtaining their GEDs, graduates, and citizens, received credit for receiving a silver level or higher on their NCRC and/or their Work Ready Certification. The Adult Education Center also acknowledged the students who met their English as a Second Language goals.
Apple Festival worship service Sunday
The Trimble County Apple Festival will host a non-denominational Community Worship Service on Sunday morning, Sept. 11, beginning at 11:00 a.m. on the main stage at the Trimble County Courthouse Square. Everyone is invited to attend.

Courtney Baxter, LaGrange Rotarian and Commonwealth Attorney for the 12th Judicial Circuit, took time from her busy schedule to visit Bedford Rotary and present information about “Hand in Hand Ministries” (HHM). HHM is relatively new (1994) with the objective to “build strong communities and transform lives through cultural immersion, education, housing, and healthcare.”
