    Milton United Methodist Church will host a free breakfast at 8 a.m. Tommy Purvis, pastor of the Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, will present a program about his Sturgis, S.D. mission. Everyone is welcome!

    Al Gibson, in providing a motivational speech to eighth graders at Trimble County Middle School, spoke about the importance of having a plan and an “end in mind” to accomplish any goals they may want to achieve.

    Milton Baptist Church is pleased to announce Timothy Scott as their new pastor. On September 27, 2015, Brother Scott and his wife, Diane, accepted a position of service to Milton Baptist Church and the community.   • Bedford audit shows improvement

    The City of Bedford could be debt free in four to six years, according to accountant Jeffrey Woods of Raisor, Zapp & Woods of Carrollton.
    The annual audit showed improvement in most areas. The Waste Water (Sewer) Treatment Plant took the biggest loss due to the rain and windstorm in July when the main road was washed away. Also, the age of the plant and substations have played a big role in contributing to the deficit as they are beginning to need extensive repairs.

    During last Wednesday’s meeting of the Trimble County Board of Education, Chairperson Tony Walker introduced the seniors who were selected to be Governor’s scholar students to the rest of the board. Superintendent Steve Miracle took the time to congratulate each student—Amber Cissell, Mila Consley, Alex Dixon and Brennan Kunkel—for his and her achievements.

    FRANKFORT, Ky. – Trimble County Circuit Court Clerk Stacy Bruner recently participated in the 2015 Circuit Court Clerks Fall College in Louisville. The Administrative Office of the Courts provided the education program Aug. 31-Sept. 3 for the state’s circuit court clerks.
