  • Trimble County schools salute local veterans

    It was said to be one of the best Veteran’s Day programs in the area. As teachers, students, community leaders, Veterans, and parents exited the program, chatter filled the Trimble County Middle School gymnasium with praise about the wonderful 2015 program.

    The City of Milton issued the following statement regarding REACH ALERT:
    “The City of Milton is now part of REACH ALERT. This emergency response plan will allow us to notify our Milton residents of any situations they need to know, such as Boil Water Advisories for Milton water customers, road closures, broken water lines, weather, etc.
    “To sign up for this alert:
    1. Call 1-877-307-9313 or
    2. Go to www.reachalert.com to sign up, click CREATE ACCOUNT, follow prompts and enter your contact information, enter Milton when asked which network.

  • Third Annual Toy Drive in Memory of Christopher Goodin underway

    From now until November 25th, 2015, Elisabeth Goodin, through the Trimble County Middle School Beta Club, will be collecting toys and other items to donate to the Child Life Program at UK Children’s Hospital. In the past two years, the club collected over 375 items and would like to double that donation this year.
    Drop off places for donations are the Trimble County Middle School and Trimble County Adult Education Building from 8-3 Monday through Thursday. All items will be taken to UK on Wednesday, November 25th.  

  • Don’t forget Saturday’s BES PTO Fall Festival

    Back by popular demand is the Bedford Elementary School Parent Teachers Organization Fall Festival, which will be held this Saturday at the school, located at 204 Mount Pleasant Road north of Bedford.
    The event returns after an absence of one year and the organizers are excited to be offering good food, games, fellowship, a crowning of royalty and an auction. The PTO has implemented a “hunter’s lunch” due to the festival being on opening day of deer season.

  • Milton Methodists host Soup and Chili meal tomorrow

    Saturday November 14 Milton United Methodist Church will have a Soup and Chili meal. The meal will include your choice of: Bean, and vegetable soup or chili, a sandwich, drink and a dessert for $7.00 (what a great price). We will also have a baked goods auction (YUM!). Our church has some awesome bakers. The eating will begin at 4:30 p.m. and last until 7:00 p.m. with the auction beginning at 5:30. Come enjoy great food, and fun with the auction. See you there.

  • Revival services this weekend at Apostolic Pentecostal Church of the Living God

    The Apostolic Pentecostal Church of the Living God, 124 Smith Lane, Bedford, will be holding revival services, Friday, Nov. 13, and Saturday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m. The speaker is Brother Jerry Cottrell from Palestine, West Virginia.   • Trimble’s Extension board sets special mtg

    Sharon Yocum has accepted the Trimble County Cooperative Extension  Board’s offer to purchase the land adjacent to the extension office.  A special meeting has been scheduled for Friday, November 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trimble County Cooperative Extension Service.  The purpose of the meeting is to discuss financing options, down payment amounts and contacting an attorney to begin the deed transfer.
