Donald and Ruby Richmond, will observe their 62nd wedding anniversary on Saturday. They were married on December 22, 1950 in Milton by the late Rev. Harry Wood. The couple resides at 379 S. Spillman Lane in Milton. They have five children: Bev, Pam, Greg, Mike and Jan; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and are expecting their first great-great-grandchild.
Trimble County High School junior bandsman Christian Apel has qualified for the prestigious honor of representing TCHS in the All-State Concert Band. Elite instrumentalists from around the Commonwealth were selected for the honor during a rigorous series of auditions by the Kentucky Music Educators Association.
“Christian is a junior clarinet player in the band program,” Trimble County Band Director Matthew Leedy said. “He is first chair of his section and has been for the past five years.”
Janet Robbins and Troy O’Brath were united in marriage Dec. 12, 1987 at the Bedford Baptist Church. Attendants were Johnny Drury, Bedford, Kerry Callis, Bedford, Johnathon Nelson, Michigan, Jarrod Mahoney, Milton, Bobby Robbins, Milton, and Lucian Sullivan Jr., Bedford.
Janet’s attendants were Kitty Webster Evans, Oklahoma, Susie Sullivan Stivers, Bedford, Leatha Webster Adams, Okla., and Cindy Webster, Bedford.
Trimble County High School graduate Danielle Garriott-Caswell has written and published the first of what she hopes will be many books. This one is titled Refuse to Sink, a fictional story geared towards a young adult audience.
“I got the inspiration to write this gem of a book, while browsing online one day,” she said. “I came across a picture that simply read ‘Let’s Go to the City and Fall in Love.’ After that it’s like the whole story flowed through me like a river, until it was finished.”
Clayton Martin of Milton has been accepted to attend Union College for the fall semester of 2013.
