The Agricultural students of Trimble County High School are opening up the greenhouse this spring. Under the direction of Jo Ann Gripshover, the greenhouse students have been seeding and transplanting plants for sale to the community. They have all sorts of plants: delicious tomatoes, spicy peppers, beautiful wave petunias, begonias, impatiens, colorful zinnias, geraniums, and many more.
Flats and hanging baskets are $14, single pots and cell packs are $1.50. Proceeds go to the Trimble County Agriculture classes.
Trimble County Middle School Principal Mike Genton has announced the sixth grade students and staff members who are being recognized for their achievements last month.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Gosman, Bedford, celebrated their 50th anniversary in style when their daughters and families presented them with a limousine ride and dinner at the Rivue atop the Galt House in Louisville.
Helen Hudson and Leon “Porky” Gosman were married Feb. 16, 1962 at the Bedford United Methodist Church. The couple has two daughters, Deborah Pyles, Bedford and Laura Baker, Milton and one grandchild, Hayley.
Jace Melwood Hafer was born at 7:28 p.m. March 24, 2012 at Norton Suburban Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and was 21 inches in length. He is the son of Jeremy and Ashlee Hafer, Madison.
Maternal grandparents are Edgar and Debbie Thomas, Bedford. Paternal grandparents are Dean and Traci Hafer, Madison.
Great-Grandparents are Shirley and Doris Brown, Sharon Ogden and Dallas and Bonnie Tomlin.
A concert benefiting the Carroll County Food Pantry will be held at the Carroll County Middle School Auditorium from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, April 21.
Local Christian musicians The Infinite Realm will serve as the host group for the concert, billed as a “Feed the Hungry” Gospel Jubilee. Also appearing will be the Commonwealth Quartet from Nashville, Tenn., and Hearts of Joy, a trio based in Hanover, Ind.

On March 6, the Bedford Rotary Club completed its annual speech contest with three Trimble County High School students participating. This year’s contest theme was “Reach Within to Embrace Humanity.”
Each year Trimble County High School is encouraged to involve students in this worthy enterprise. Students gain experience in public speaking and have opportunity to win prize money and move on to higher contests with Rotary’s district 6710.
The Bedford United Methodist Church will host a Music Revival on Saturday and Sunday, April 14-15.
Dave Stahl, well-known keyboardist/vocalist along with Freddy Helm, saxophonist will be in concert on Saturday evening, April 14th, beginning at 7 p.m.
Dave and Freddy have been entertaining groups across the state for the past three years and have maintained a busy concert schedule. The duo entertain regularly for the Kentucky State Parks and play for town days, corporate events, conventions and churches as well.
