  • Milton Methodist Church plans auction

    On Saturday, July 21, Milton United Methodist Church will hold an ‘Auction for Christ’ fundraier in the new Fellowship Hall at 5 p.m. Wesley Cox, Auctioneer will auction household and miscellaneous items. All proceeds go towards the building fund or Church maintenance fund. Open to public.

  • Mt. Tabor Wesleyan Church VBS July 17-19

    Mount Tabor Wesleyan Church, 1450 Palmyra Rd. Bedford, will hold Vacation Bible School from Tuesday, July 17, through Thursday, July 19.

    The theme for this year’s VBS is “Heat About the Miracles Jesus Performed.” All children ages three through 12 are encouraged to attend. The VBS sessions will be held from 6-8 p.m. nightly.

  • Mt. Byrd Christian VBS kickoff is Saturday

    On Saturday, July 14, Mt Byrd Christian Church will host a VBS kickoff in Milton Park from 6-8 p.m. with fun activities, food and games for children ages 3 through 6th grade.   • Mt. Carmel Methodist Church welcomes new pastor, Rev. Reistroffer

    The Rev. Dianne Reistroffer has been appointed to the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 204 Mt Carmel Road, Milton, Ky. Her first Sunday was June 24. Rev. Reistroffer comes to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church from the Wisconsin Conference of the United Methodist Church. Service times are Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and morning worship at 10:30 a.m.
     

  • Milton Baptist Church welcomes new pastor

    Milton Baptist Church, located at 10076 U.S. Hwy. 421N in Milton, is pleased to announce Brian “Deek” Dubberly as their new pastor.

    On July 1, 2012, Brother Deek and his wife, Lauren, accepted a position of service to Milton Baptist and the community. Brother Dubberly is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy Degree at the Southern Theological Seminary.

    Lauren works as a Physician Assistant in the Emergency Room at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana.

  • Helton is Hanover graduate

    Milton resident Jon Helton was among 228 students who received the bachelor of arts degree during Hanover College’s 179th annual commencement ceremony. The graduation was held Saturday, May 28, in Collier Arena.

    Helton, a political science major, is the son of Joey Helton and Jan Helton. Prior to attending Hanover, he graduated from Trimble County High School.

    Located on 650 acres overlooking the Ohio River in southeastern Indiana, Hanover, founded in 1827, is the oldest private, four-year college in Indiana.

  • Milton’s Wilma Oakley attends funeral director’s convention

    Wilma Oakley, owner of the Wood-Oakley Funeral Home in Milton, recently attended the 130th Annual Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky’s Convention, held June 18-20, 2012, at the Kentucky International Convention Center and the Hyatt Regency in Louisville.

  • Wainscot, Welch to wed July 14

    Ricky Wainscott and Susan Welch both of Carrollton would like to announce their engagement and upcoming wedding on Saturday, July 14, 2012.

    The bride is the daughter of Patty Welch of Carrollton and the late Joe “JoJo” Welch.

    The groom is the son of Loretta Wainscott of Carrollton and the late Bobby Wainscott.

    The ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. with a reception to follow at the American Legion Post 41 in Carrollton. No formal invitations will be sent. All friends and family are invited.

  • Trimble grad receives scholarship to pursue masters at Notre Dame’s School of Music

    Andrew G. Jennings, Bedford, received a Bachelor of Music at Indiana University Southeast in May of this year.

    Jennings is the recipient of a full, two-year scholarship to study for his Masters at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. His study is Sacred Music with emphasis in choral conducting. Andy will also be a graduate assistant in the Music Department.
