  • Commissioners give department reports

    The Bedford City Commission held its meeting on Oct. 18, 2016 at the Morgan Community Center. The Commission first discussed the status and concerns of the cemetery, sanitation and streets/sidewalks.
    Mayor Todd Pollock had received a complaint from a citizen regarding the upkeep of a family member’s grave. Pollock responded that the caretaker of the cemetery had been in the hospital and unable to perform his duties.
    Sanitation had no concerns.

  • Board reviews assessment results

    The Trimble County Board of Education held their regular meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at the Trimble County High School library. The Board recognized Governor’s Scholars Tessa Chilton, Trevor Browning, Chandler Howerton and Zachary Wright.
    The Board also recognized Bedford faculty member Mandy Clark who is the Reading Recovery teacher for Bedford Elementary. Clark described how the program is implemented as well as its use in conjunction with other programs.

  • Veterans encouraged to attend lunch and program at Milton Elementary on Nov. 7

    Milton Elementary will celebrate Veterans Day on Monday, November 7, with a lunch at 12:30 p.m., and a program at 1:15 p.m. Veterans may bring a guest and are asked to RSVP to Milton Elementary at 502.268.3322, or 502.255.5100, extension 5001.

    Bedford Springs to host Trunk or Treat this Saturday
    Bedford Springs Church on Shepherd Lane (across from nursing home)  will host a Trunk or Treat  from 4-6 p.m. in the church parking lot on Saturday, Oct. 29. All are welcome!

    David Stahl will be ministering in music this Sunday, Oct. 30 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bedford United Methodist Church. Everyone is welcome to attend!

  • TCHS Class of 1981 to hold reunion Saturday

    The Trimble County High School Class of 1981 has scheduled their 35-year reunion for
    Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Broadway Hotel Restaurant & Tavern located at 313 Broadway Street in Madison, Indiana, starting at 7:00 p.m. There will be no reservation costs; classmates may order food and drinks off menu if interested. The dress will be casual. No formal invitations will be mailed; please use e-mail, Facebook, phone calls and word of mouth to inform other classmates of the reunion date.   • Milton Methodists host guest speaker

    Trimble County Circuit Clerk Stacy Bruner has announced that driver testing dates for November have been changed.

  • Milton PTO fish fry another success

    They did it again! Year after year the Milton Elementary PTO pulls together, gathers donations, volunteers and community members to host their annual fish fry. The money raised at this event funds a wide variety of programs for the students.

  • Palmyra Community Halloween Party set

    Nick and Tammy Nixon are once again hosting the Palmyra Community Halloween celebration at their farm, located at 1066 Palmyra Road. The event will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29.
    Bring your little ghouls for a howling good time. Too old to trick or treat? Bring your goodies, park in the field and treat the little goblins. You’re welcome to bring a dish but it is not required. There will be good eats for everyone!
