Some of Trimble County’s youngest students helped the school district surpass the state average scores during the first year of a standardized kindergarten screening.
Lexie Roberts made the A/B Honor Roll for Trimble County High School for the 4th nine weeks. Lexie’s name was inadvertently omitted from the honor roll list, which was published in the June 12 edition of The Trimble Banner.

A beautiful afternoon full of musical arrangements and a vast array of talented young people was the setting at Trimble County High School Sunday afternoon. The Jazz band, 6th grade band, 7th and 8th grade band, and high school band performed, led by director Matt Leedy.
Gilbert and Betty Heaton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 16.
They were treated to a surprise dinner at Belterra Casino’s buffet with their children, Martha Carol and Ronnie Hunt and Jackie and Trent Jeffries, and grandchildren Christopher Heaton and Sheena Jones, and Jordan Hunt and Autumn Edens, as well as their great-grandson, Braden Hunt.
The couple was married Aug. 14, 1964, at Poplar Ridge Baptist Church. They have farmed and operated a dairy farm during their life together.
Eastern Kentucky University recognized 1,707 graduates at the conclusion of the Spring 2014 semester. The graduates honored at commencement ceremonies on May 10 included Milton resident Eric Lee Muncie, who earned a PSYS in School Psychology.
The new degree holders join more than 137,000 Eastern alumni in Kentucky and across the United States and world. Eastern Kentucky University is a comprehensive university serving approximately 15,500 students.
This month marks the 11th annual National Donate Life Month, a celebration commemorating those who have given the gift of life through organ, eye and tissue donation. For those whose lives have been saved or healed by a transplant, Donate Life Month provides a chance to share their story to encourage more people to register as donors.
Third grade—Alivia Adams, Bailyn Clifford, Kameron Duke, Emma Ginn, Piper Howdeshell, Maddie Isley, Gracie Jent, Brian Morrison, Max Pyles, Jeffrey Ward, Ally Zuckschwerdt, Aubree Craig, Anneliese Crumley, Alyssa Gross and Jessica Spurr.
Fourth grade—Savannah Crawford, Harrison Felts, Andrew Meador, Bailey Nichols, Sean Spurr, Chaynon Wynn, Arianna Blair, Kaci Huff and Morgan Overton.
Revival services will be held beginning Tuesday, April 22 and continuing through Sunday, April 27 at Mt. Tabor Wesleyan Church located on Hwy. 1226 midway between Milton and Bedford.

Services will begin at 7:00 pm nightly, Sunday school at 9:45, morning worship 10:30 and Sunday evening at 5:30. Everyone is welcome to attend.
