  • TCHS drama group to present dinner theatrical production

    It’s a “Rehearsal for Murder” this week at the Trimble County High School gymnasium. The school’s theatrical production under the leadership of the Carrie Law is set for production this Thursday, Friday and Saturday and will offer a dinner option.

    The plot finds Broadway producer Alex Dennison distraught over his fiancé and leading lady Monica Welles’ apparent suicide. Believing she was actually murdered he gathers the cast and crew of his last play to find out what actually happened the night of Monica’s death.

    On April 30, Bedford Elementary School recognized the 4th and 5th grade BES students who received a Distinguished on the KPREP test.

  • Green on Dean’s List

    Bellarmine University has named Pendleton resident Kassi Green to its dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester.  The dean’s list recognizes students who receive a grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.  
    Green, a junior who is majoring in business administration, previously attended Trimble County High School.

  • Shelby Energy Cooperative to award $1,000 scholarships

    Shelby Energy Cooperative is offering six (6) $1,000 scholarships, in a program designed to enhance the education and resulting careers of high school seniors. Two scholarships per district served by Shelby Energy will be awarded.

    To qualify, the parent(s) or guardian(s) of the applicant must be a member of Shelby Energy.

  • Milton United Methodist hosting Valentine dinner

    Milton United Methodist Church will hold a Valentine’s Day Family   Fellowship Dinner and Game Night on Saturday, Feb. 16. The event will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the church, located at 11100 Hwy 421 North on the Milton hilltop. There will be games for both adults and children, photos, karaoke and door prizes. Everyone is welcome.
     

  • Trimble CARES seeks residents for survey results

    Trimble CARES Coalition needs your help! The Coalition’s purpose is to reduce substance abuse in Trimble County, particularly among our youth. Each year, Trimble CARES Coalition seeks input from the community in the form of a “Community Survey.” The survey helps us in planning our prevention programs and strategies for the year.   • Training available

    JCTC Trimble County Adult Education will be conducting a Job Skills and Computer Literacy Class at the Trimble County Public Library on Monday and Wednesday beginning January 14, and ending March 27, 2013. The class will be held from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

    Some topics that are planned include resume and cover letter writing, online job search and application, and preparation for the National Career Readiness Certificate. Please call to register at 502-255-9191.

  • Federal benefit checks to go electronic March 1

    Washington, D.C.  –The U.S. Department of the Treasury has reported that 5 million checks continue to be mailed to federal beneficiaries each month. With just two months remaining until the March 1, 2013, electronic payment law goes into effect, the Treasury Department is urging Social Security and other federal benefit recipients to not delay and switch now to either direct deposit or the Direct Express® Debit MasterCard® card.
