  • TCHS seniors clean up for ‘Light Up’

    When Trimble County High School guidance counselor Brigette Kunselman saw a story in The Banner that said Bedford may not host its annual Christmas event this year, she had an idea.

    With permission from Principal Stirling “Buddy” Sampson, she asked the senior class the following day if anyone would be interested in pitching in to help save “Light Up Bedford.”

  • Bedford Christian installs pastor

    Pastor Melissa Fain recently was installed as the new pastor to lead the Bedford Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.

    The installation ceremony was  Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, with the Rev. Greg Alexander from Christian Church Regional Office in Lexington, Ky., officiating.

    Ms. Fain was selected from numerous applicants received by the pastor Search Committee and was determined to be the best match for the local congregation to lead the church forward.

  • TCHS Class of 1960 holds 50-year reunion

    The Trimble County High School Class of 1960 held it’s 50-year reunion on Saturday, Oct. 2.

  • BIRTH -- Sholes-Chadwell

    Mark Chadwell of Milton and Lorye Sholes of Merrillville, Ind., announce the birth of their second son, Gage Preston Sholes-Chadwell.

    He was born Aug. 10, 2010, weighing 8 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 20½ inches long.

    He joins siblings Larken J. and Casey Chadwell of Carrollton, Ky.; Jonathan Chadwell of Eminence, Ky.; and sisters Jessica Tingle of Madison, Ind. and Emily Chadwell of Shelbyville, Ky.

    Grandparents are Mary Sholes, Weeki Wachee, Fla. and the late Wilbur E. Sholes, Hebron, Ind.

  • Crump earns doctorate

    Dennis G. Crump successfully defended his dissertation at the E. Stanley Jones School of World Mission and Evangelism on the campus of Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Ky., on Oct. 6.

    The title of the dissertation is “Contextualization of Public Worship Practices in Vietnamese Protestant Churches of the Greater Ohio Valley Region.”

    Crump will receive a doctorate in missiology Dec. 10 at the seminary’s winter commencement ceremony.
