While many residents of Trimble County were having fun at the Apple Festival on Saturday, the Junior Varsity and Varsity Youth League Tackle Football Raiders were at the Henry County Recreation and Services Park going head to head against the JV New Castle Chiefs and the Varsity Campbellsburg Bengals.
Touchdowns by Trenton Stockdale, James Thomas Wilcoxson, Tanner Morris, Chris Withrow, and two touchdowns by Mason Powell helped the JV Raiders improved their record to 1-2 by scoring 37 points to the Chiefs 6.
The Varsity Raiders continued their quest to remain undefeated by pummeling the Campbellsburg Bengals 33-6. Daniel Posas scored a touchdown, Evan Stevens connected with Ben Stevens on a pass for a two-point conversion while Dusty Wright and David Duncan scored two touchdowns each and two extra point conversions for the Raiders.
The Youth League Raiders will travel to Madison on September 19, to take on Madison’s youth league football team. The following week, September 26, the Raiders will host Madison at the Trimble County Park. Both games begin at 6:30 p.m.
