William R. ‘Sug’ McAlister, 88

GOSHEN, Ky. –William R. “Sug” McAlister, 74, of Goshen, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at his residence.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 14, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton with the Rev. Gary MaGuffee and the Rev. Carroll “Bimp” McAlister officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday, June 14, at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

Mr. McAlister was born on May 5, 1938, in Trimble County, Ky., the son of the late Dell W. and Virginia (Murphy) McAlister.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Sue (Ellis) McAlister,  a daughter, Tracy S. Kasey, Goshen; two granddaughters, and one brother, Frank McAlister of New Albany, Ind.

His parents, his son, Jeffrey William McAlister (2004), two sisters, Louise Bickers and Virgie McAlister, five brothers, Raymond McAlister, Delmar McAlister, Donald W. McAlister, Sr., Wayne F. “Ike” McAlister and John G. McAlister preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Shiloh United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
