WILLIAMSTOWN, Ky. – William H. “Billy” Ford, 89, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Grant Manor in Williamstown.

Services were Monday, Oct 20 at Ransdell Funeral Home, 7101 Campbells-burg Road, Campbells-burg, Ky., with the Rev. Carl Rucker officiating. Burial was in Port Royal Cemetery, Port Royal, Ky. Military honors were conducted at graveside.

Mr. Ford was born Oct. 18, 1919, in Henry County to the late Arthur and Eliza Ford.

He was a farmer for most of his life. For the past 10 years that he was able to work, he was a firefighter for Dow Corning, Carrollton plant.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II as a staff sergeant in Bravo Company of the 127th Infantry. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and collected arrowheads and hats.

Survivors include his wife, Marietta (Truman) Ford; two sisters, Pauline Clark of Carrollton and Katherine Poe of Campbellsburg; and a brother, Harvey Ford of Carrollton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Thomas Ford, and three brothers, Melvin, Marvin and Orvie Ford.
